I received the letter today. My bankruptcy is officially discharged. I know at least one of my student loans was not closed, so I doubt the other one will be either. However, all the credit cards were; so that's a load off my mind.
In other news, I think I came out to my students this week... my kids were asking some questions and I mentioned that my last relationship had been in 1992. I never came out and said it was with a guy, but I think they put 2 and 2 together because of things I didn't say. Another class began joking about someone being gay. I put an end to the joking. One student asked if I thought that being gay was "nasty." I replied that what I or anyone does in a loving and caring relationship between two consenting adults is no one's business. That raised several eyebrows. I did notice at least one student slightly nodding his head. Hopefully, I have an impact on my kids and that they will become more tolerant of differing opinions throughout their lives...
