And for quite some time we've been using human organ and tissue for transplant.

It's quite likely that most of us have a bit of cadaver in our dental work - the glue factory used up all the horses long ago.

There was a big controversy in 2004 when it was revealed that bodies that had been donated to the UCLA Medical School for research purposes were actually being sold to companies that used the cadavers as raw material for products used in various medical procedures.
