So I got the approval letter today from the Wasco State Prison, and I'm going to visit my little brother this weekend.

It's been over two months since I saw him last, and I can't wait any longer.

I'll still have to see himn through a glass window, but at I won't have a 1 hour time limit.. it'll now be 2 hours.

Didn't you say it got better over time or something--that you'd be able to see him without the glass window?

He's better in some ways, but not in others.

He's in a cell 23 hours a day with a man who's serving 7 years for assaulting his wife. they have little in common so they dont' talk. He just reads all day (just like his big bro like that). I send him a lot of books Via Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com (all books have to be sent from a company like that, I can't have my hands on it first).

And yes, Lube... from what I understand I may be able to hug him soon. He'll be living with me once he gets out. Which - if we're really lucky - may be as soon as new years.

Yeah. When he was in county jail, it was easy. you had to show up at a certain time and they'd do a security check right there. They'd take your info and do pretty much what the cops do when they pull you over for speeding.

For prison, it's a full background check. Took almost a month.

Well I can only imagine how hard it is for the both of you. In an odd way I would imagine it must be harder for you as you're the guy looking in. Stay positive and keep doing the things you do to get by. Before you know it, little brother will be out and back home with you.

And don't go all nice. Uncle Soilwork is more fun when there's a little crank in the air.

Congrats on the approval. I would imagine having you visit is going to be a real boost for him, and it will probably help the time go faster as well. He's lucky to have a brother who loves him and watches out for him as you do.
