This kind of thing happens when medications people must have are priced out of availability. One example is the number of people who were starting to make their own insulin because the drug companies gouged them. Like the story said, people will try to make their own mifepristone for abortions if the fascists get fully in charge and ban it. I can't see that ending well. I'm sure a lot of other drugs will fall under the same category. I'm sure it will happen with other types of medical care as well. The exorbitant cost and unavailability, plus all the disinformation, is fertile ground for quacks.
