Jennifer Hudson on the cover of Vogue!!!!

In March, singer-turned-actress Jennifer Hudson will appear inside the pages of Vogue as the third African-American to grace the cover of the fashion magazine. However, she is the first African-American singer to do so.

The annual March Power Issue is expected to be a huge hit this year since it showcases the spring fashion preview.

Prior to Hudson's appearance on the cover, the only other two African-American celebrities who have previously led the way have been talk show queen Oprah Winfrey and Oscar-winner Halle Berry.

Annie Leibovitz, the first photographer to capture exclusive images of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri, shot pictures of the former "American Idol" contestant for the cover.

The photo shooting took place at the Apollo Theater in New York.

The pictures are kinda blah (so is the cover) but it doesn't matter. Congrats girl!

I love Jennifer, and I'm glad she's the third black actress to ever be on Vogue...but I'm really not liking the pictures. I think the photographer did a horrible job.

I know wtf??? Annie Liebovitz is such a legend how could she turn up such yucky photos?? And why would Anna Wintour choose such a horrenduos pic for the cover?? Jennifer looks like a damn horse! Looks like she wants some hay or something LOL!

She is star is getting so bright. From American Idol to the cover of Vogue magazine. Damn! Does anyone else think all of the praise is a bit premature? I think Jennifer is great, but I just hope she delivers an equally album.

After she wins the Oscar in a few weeks I think everything will die down a little then pick up again when it's almost time for her album to come out. I think it's so great that she's under Clive Davis' wing. You know she's in great hands so the album will be incredible.

Beyonce's father is so predictable! He leaked out Beyonce's cover of Sports illustrated on the same day that Miss Jennifer Hudson's VOUGE cover was released. Is this supposed to be a coincedence? Sports illustrated is nowhere near VOUGE! Beyonce's dad looks deperate. Come on, the same day? Hmmmm...

...or maybe the knowles camp is doing Jennifer a favor. Attention deflected from that cover can only be a good thing. Seriously, does Jennifer herself think it's a good picture? That has got to be one of the worst covers I've EVER seen.
And just as a side note: I do like both of them, Jennifer and Beyonce.
