Thank you, my eyes aren't sore for many hours after shampoo/soap get in them tho. that's what is making me nervous. will see how this goes.

The redness and burning is a normal reaction.

If it persists more than a day and in particular if your eye remains red and tender to the touch, you should have it checked by your doctor.
 
Well, semen is way more alkaline as it needs to go through the acidity of women's vagina, also take in consideration that the sperm is going through his ureter, and as such, may have residues of urine, which can irritate your eye. As long as you have washed it very well, it is supposed to reduce in a bit.
 
Thanks for the responses guys. The redness has pretty much all gone, but its still tender. Hopefully that will heal on its own soon. Maybe a good nights sleep will help. UGH how did I not even think about that happening before?. my inner brain will always be saying KEEP EYES SHUT! KEEP EYES SHUT. from now on, that's for sure!

That's probably a good idea for any situation where you're too close to the line of fire. It's too bad that they don't make safety goggles for this purpose.
