aww i feel sorry for her personally! i hope she rises above the critics! plus she has same views as me, you shouldnt apolgise for not doing anything!

Hmm not racism sorry but its not.

And its pretty stupid why is it not alright to bully Shilpa but when the press and everyone tries to ruin the lives of 3 other women its alright and aceptable.

And then people bring racism in to it. god how annoying! i mean it isnt racist to say 'i dont know where her hands have been' and its not racist to copmplain about people touching your food! If they were messing aroudn with it in McDonalds im sure you wouldnt find it aceptable, if they gave you raw chicken (which by the way Shilpa was told how to cook it but she didnt listen) then started playing around with it then said its fine to eat.

my dad always cooks food wrong and i often feel ill after i eat anything he makes.

now tell me what part of that was racist.

lol i was actaully waiting for you to bring race into it, because i thought if i did, youd call me racist.

So basically in your eyes if a white perosn doesnt like a person because of the personality then you think there racist!

See it seems to me like the people calling the 3 racist are racist themselves!

They didnt like Shilpa because she annoyed them, your obviously one sided and wont see any fault with Shilpa. So theres not much point in having this conversation with you as your obviously set in one way. I dont judge people by there colour so i can see that it was personalities that was the problem and not colour, but your obviously to bothered about the colour of someone to see things how they are.

What was most irritating about Jo is the way she laughed when Shilpa turned to her to intervene.

In terms of racism, there wasn't any explicit racism towards Shilpa, but undoubtedly the actions of the "witches with a capital B!" (Quote: Edwina Currie), can be construed as racism.

The definition of racism according to the Cambridge Dictionary online is "DISAPPROVING the belief that people's qualities are influenced by their race and that the members of other races are not as good as the members of your own, or the resulting unfair treatment of members of other races".

So, that definition settles the argument, that Shilpa Shetty was a victim of racism.

I mean a record number of complaints of 40,000 to the OFT, clearly shows that it caused people to believe the attitude towards Shilpa as racist, and this isn't just thought by Asians, but by the native population as well.

Let's face it, if it wasn't racist, there'd be no mention of racism in the media and we wouldn't be talking about it as being racist.

It was ignorance on the part of those two broads. They should have sat with Shilpa and asked her more about her culture instead of whispering and making generalizations.

I would of laughed at her to. not because of her race, just because she says she doesnt want arguments but she tried to bring more people into it, and the fact the argument was all about the chicken, and it were Jo and Jade who were right.

And 'umakemecum' the media will say anthing, and plus its ALLEGED racism, which means its not been confirmed! Plus it wont be comfirmed as it wasnt racism.

And sorry but anyone who gives death threats to someone for making a mistake (which Shilpa says everyone does, i thought youd listen to the word of her) should be shot, i mean the opnyl person who has the right to complain about Jo, Jade or Danielle is obviously Shilpa! And she hasnt because she knows there wasnt racism.

She was a complete slag in the house, not just because of what she said to Shilpa, but her behaviour on the whole.
I am inclined to agree with most of the points you are making, but Jo's worst "crime" is one of ignorance rather than racism, her quote was more of a generalisation, than a racist dig.
As for her being a slag - that's a fairly ignorant comment in itself - as the definition is that of a promiscuous woman according to the dictionary. Hardly her behaviour in the house - I wonder if you meant she was more of a slob??

What was most irritating about Jo is the way she laughed when Shilpa turned to her to intervene.

Again, you have raised some good points - but Jo was not the only one at fault here either. Where were the men in the House? When Jade starting laying into poor Shilpa, not one of them intervened. Jack did not try to calm Jade down, probably 'cos he was scared for his life, Dirk remained in the garden puffing his cigar, Ian "H" Watkins - nowhere in sight, only Jermaine Jackson had the decency to do anything, but he didn't try to tell Jade that she was well out of order.
Cleo was too worried about being liked by everyone to say anything, even though she witnessed the whole incident. So everyone of them struck me as being weak and irritating.

I would of laughed at her to.

s3bbl3s - I agree with you on the stance of this not being a racist attack, but come on - no way did Shilpa deserve the bullying displayed by Jade, and it was pig-ignorant of Jo and Danielle to sit there laughing. You are young and I understand why these girls would appeal to you, I'd probably like them if I met them, but there is no way I would have sat there laughing - I would have tried to calm Jade down, reminding her that she was being filmed and that her actions were out of order

i just think that its unfair what has happened to Jade and Jo (havnt really heard about Danielle) They were intitled to there opinion about someone and everyone should be allowed not to get along with someone no matter what there race is.

I just dont understand why people are enjoying whats happeneg to Jo and Jade.

And one more thing Shilpa was not perfect, i know the press amde her out to be, but she wasnt. Most people onyl started watching after everything had been said. And Jo saying it was taken out of context, was totaly right. I mean way over half of people who started watching didnt even see what was going on before that.

Let me make this clear, I am by no means condoning the girls receiving death threats, but they should have thought of the consequences before opening their mouths. But alas, they've learnt their lesson the hard way.

Jo has exacerbated the media attention towards her as a result of not apologising, but there again she didn't know such would be the outcome.

Let me also clarify on your final point, Shilpa won't stoop to Jade's level to call her racist to her face or to the media and lose her dignity by fighting over it, but whatever it is we can't deny that Shilpa wasn't bullied.
