JUB - Downloading is very slow !!!

Hi - Is it my PC or has the download of articles/topics slowed down considerably since the new changes to the site??

And i haven't had a single problem, even using my Cell phone as a broadband modem... It only connects at 112Kbps here (on EDGE) and it doesn't take "that" long to load.

I'm wondering if there is a pattern to people with this complaint... Namely, none of you are based in the U.S.... Though i don't know why that would make a big difference.

Same here - I've had quite a few time-outs since the change over.

I'm in the US and have time outs almost daily. Can read for 10 minutes or so then it is a no go. If I wait another 15 minutes I can continue where I left off.

Very frustrating considering this is not actual sex.

I don't know if it's relevant, but after the upgrade it was unbearably slow for me.

I updated JAVA and it improved greatly.

well we all agree that since the introdution of the new site things have got slower
i have to wait 5/8 seconds for the page to open it gets tireing after a while tried what noelie sugested no inprovement sometimes i wonder why all these changes they are not for the better please go back thats progress

I am currently very confuseled.

Same weekend JUB upgraded I updated my software on my **BRAND NEW** MacBook. The city-wide wireless was down a week before, and was down a few days after the upgrade. Finally was working again, and I was blaming the slow speeds on the upgrade.

Fast forward to tonight. Wireless system is down again so I hauled out the dial up modem. Speeds are blowing my mind tonight, absolutely no problems and everything is working faster than ever. I'm wondering if there is some problem with portions of the internet in the US causing slow speeds????? Did some research a few months ago and my dial up ISP uses a server at the University of Colorado; the wireless ISP is using a for-profit privately held server. Any ideas?

Edit: And the really strange thing is as things are working way, way faster I hear the hard drive kicking in more often. It wasn't doing that very much at all. This is just blowing my mind.
