i was about to ask, are the mods all boomers? It would explain virtually everything.

^ Which are still pretty much the same way they were ten to fifteen years ago.

well theres one difference. A whole lot less black people. Tried engaging the mods to find out why, a brick wall would be more receptive and engaging.

Really? I thought black or European people would be more the exotic prop for nominal diversity in this site

I guess these pines are too shady for people who want to... 'light up' the world with speeches and "activism".

theres an anxiety to being the only person of color around. I didnt have a black classmate until junior high, except two temporary black classmates in elementary, they were adopted into families or foster care or something so they attended my school for maybe a few weeks a piece. Didnt have enough black classmates to start a football team til high school. Clearly Im scarred for life! Luckily being the strong black independent strong black woman I am I take it on the chin. Not to be cinfused with how I spend my Friday nights, which is none of your business unless youre looking for a good time and have $20 to spare.

^ So your sexuality was never an issue and a lonely island and source of more or less mild discomfort while growing up... good for you

Nah, my family and church stressed the more righteous parts of religion ie charity and stuff. Ive only ever seen fiery antigay sermons on youtube as an adult. Then again gay people were invisible when I was growing up, there was no homophobic culture war cuz we didnt have gay super heroes and tv shows and singers. As a naturally masculine guy I wasnt really subject to bullying-- not that theres anything wrong with the limp wrist tribe. If I was fem I wouldnt have survived adolescence, you see how loudly black I am, imagine me being that loudly queer.

^ Who mentioned religion? I meant being the odd guy in the bunch.

Although I mocked or slightly bullied more for being a nerd than a homo... even when people started caring about my homoness before I ever did.
