Any chance of making it BEFORE the weekend of August 16? That's one impossible weekend or, at the very least, an extraordinarily-nasty conflict.
It's possible the weekend of August 23 may work for me, but it will be VERY tough. Anything after that is ABSOLUTELY impossible.
You're talking about the same time of year that almost every event that I've ever been fond of, all cluster-up into that period of a few weeks. Three to five weeks of overkill, followed (in most years) by up to 48 to 50 weeks of absolutely no big events. In fact, in 38 years, the ST. LOUIS meet was only my second major event that's ever started before the middle of July.
If you were to research old history, I think you'd find a posting by me, VERY similar to this, on the ancient San Antonio thread.

I've got to finalize my vacation schedule within the next week or so....if it definitely can be Friday,August 15 to Sunday August 17,I will do everything I can to make it there.Too many other vacation requests for anything later in the month.

Please, please-I-say, if it's possibly one of the first two weekends of August, I'm golden. The third weekend conflicts with what is ordinarily my second-most-important event of the year. That would be a heartwrenching conflict indeed, and whether I go to Omaha or Milwaukee, it would be with EXTREME sadness at something I'm missing. The weekend of August 16 is my worst possible weekend between now and Labor Day weekend.
There is no other part of the year for me that's as EXTREME as mid-August to early fall, culminating at Labor Day, when I'm often more than a thousand miles from here. I've even been known to put myself in physical danger trying to meet deadlines before the four to six week trip which often happens around that time of year.

Anyways Nevada sounds awesome. Always wanted to go there. Sometime after July would be cool. Would love to take my first roadtrip up there. I've always wanted to travel somewhere.

i would tell you that if its only one other person who shows up then you had a successful meet! of course we want a large turn out with these jub meets but the smaller the group the easier it is for everyone to converse, get to know one another, etc.
'sides, my first jub meet was in austin and even though we pushed it and publicized it the only people there were myself and centexfarmer. since then we've been the best of friends.
anyhow, just giving you my two cents.
i would tell you that if its only one other person who shows up then you had a successful meet! of course we want a large turn out with these jub meets but the smaller the group the easier it is for everyone to converse, get to know one another, etc.

I am so going to try to make it then.....I'm just wondering if the 1-3 is written in stone or the 8-10 is possible as well.I know some can't make it later in the month,but I'm unsure of any vacation conflicts and will try to get back with something definitive by early next week.I really would like to make it then.Call me provisionally yes...really trying to push it.I can just about deal with it budgetarily,just logistics and scheduling at work leave a slight room for doubt.

But you said that's a Sunday, gdude. What about if you flew to Omaha and back, and left on an early Sunday flight? You could be back in ATL by 2 or 3 PM at the latest Sunday, well in time for your concert.
