my avatar judges people :)
at least thats what he told me
or were it the voices in my head?
AAAH!

must b<CARRIER LOST>

yes but does he give out points? :p

I look nothing like the guy in my avatar, but I too, associate people with their avatars

I definitley assosciate people with their Avatars. I think that's the idea though.

I don't make judgements about other members based on their avatars. I use it as a marker to see if someone I know had posted. I have noticed that for the most part, the avatar tends to reflect the member in some way which I think is pretty cool.

does that make you a super hero?:D

But you know, that's one of the greatest things about this board: we learn about ourselves as we learn about others, and we all grow from the experience.

^wise words. I agree.

Peoples' avatars do not put me off from reading their post. I tend to read threads like a story board. However they are normally the thing that triggers me looking at their homepage.

I use Avatars to help me to identify a Jubber when they're new to me. After that, it doesn't matter. In fact, I think I like it when they change them often because it helps me to not lock in any particular image of them.

I've been using me for my Avatar lately so I can say yes that is me, when asked. It just feels better.

Since I just changed my avatar to somethig totally outrageous I seem to identify with the topic of this thread....hhhhmmmmm.....

Judge not the book by it's cover....go to the gallery to do that! he he he

I've changed my avater several times (hell, I've changed my screenname several times), and it just depends on mood or what I come across that I think is funny. Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in "Mommie Dearest?" Now THATS funny. "NO WIRE HANGERS, EEVVEERR!

The last avatar was of my ass, and yes, that was me & my ass, to everyone who left comments asking about it. I may use it again, or I may use my face pic again or maybe just a pic of my dick with a siggy saying "Don't be a dick." Who knows?

It is wrong to judge people on a message board on anything other than the quality of their posts & conversation through PM.

Otherwise it just displays an immature attitude & shallow personality.

Well I wouldn't say I judge a person by thier avatar but I definatly recognize a person by their avatar.

^Likewise. Very handy bookmark.

I have changed mine recently from its insipid bubblegum-pukey green Biohazard logo to the same logo masked across a greened (orgially sepia) photograph of me but I was wondering if maybe the big green one wasn't in fact just more recognisable and, to a point, more me.

So I changed it again - left the biohazard in and the photo but blended it a little better. We'll see how that works out.
