Movie producers have ruled out a fourth Jurassic Park blockbuster - because the story died with author Michael Crichton.

The sci-fi writer passed away in November and moviemakers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy have made no further progress with plans for another film in the franchise - because Crichton's death was "a sign" for them to walk away from the idea.

When asked by reporters from CelebrityTruth.com if there has been any development on a fourth Jurassic Park movie, Kennedy answered "No" before adding: "When Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."

Nice to hear. But I'm sure they'll find someone to write a treatment for a fourth installment that "Crichton would have been proud to have been associated with".

I think it is a good thing there isn't going to be another one. Especially with Crichton having passed away.

Could have been good, but trying to revive a long gone franchise seldom works.

It's kind of a shame because it's been in the works for years and just never came to fruition. I felt like the fourth one should have been made because the third one was so disappointing and I was hoping there could be some redemption.

I'm fine with earing this news. Personally I thought it was a bad idea to begin with. The first two are fine the way they are. The third one was okay, but kind of a let-down after the first two. But it is sad that Michael Crichton died awhile ago. I liked the novel versions of Jurassic Park and The Lost World. That's just too bad to hear he died.

Jurrasic Park was a fantastic movie and book, then the second one was okay but lost the excitement/creativity of the first one, and the third one was so awful I can't believe they would consider making a fourth.

They should have stopped with the first one in my opinion.

I thought # 3 was by far better than # 2. # 2 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
