I know I hav to reinstall every program I used to have on my computer and that will happen later but I have one little problem that I can't get past.

For some reason I'm not able to change the screen resolution. Shouldn't I be able to do it? Does anyone know why I can't or how I can?

Thanks.

visit your video card manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your model. that will solve your problem.

I have Windows XP Home Edition.

Everything is fine except everything is too big. When I click on the START menu it practically covers the entire screen. The icons are huge and the words as well. Can anyone help?

The screen resolution is currently 640x480 and I can't slide the little marker over to change it. I also can't change the color quality, it's stuck at 16 bit.

Where would I find the driver download if I don't have the disk? I have every single cd that came with my computer. Would one of those have the software driver I need?

These are the disks that I don't really know what is on them:

Dell Dimension ResourceCD

Another one reads:

For Reinstalling V.9X (Capable)/56K Data/Fax Modem Software for Microsoft Windows

On the side of that disk it say: Contents:

-Drivers
-Diagnostics and utilities
-Online documentation
-Modem on Hold

I followed your instructions but there is nothing that says Display Adapters. I checked on my laptop, the one I'm using, and it's there, no problem. Why isn't it on my my desktop?

Where would I find the driver download if I don't have the disk?
This might be a good occassion to visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer and download the latest version of the driver anyway.

Solved my problem. Thanks to all who were willing to help.
