Although i don't live in America, i just discovered Kathy Mcphee's album. And i must say its pretty awesome! i really love Open Toes!

Too bad the rest of America doesn't feel the same way. The lead single, "Over It" peaked where it debuted last week (number forty-eight) and plunges down to number sixty this week while the album itself is getting some of the most horrific album reviews I have ever read in my life.

Womp, womp. Sorry, you're wrong.

"Over It" jumped 15 spots on airplay last week--gaining over 200 spins, and it's just beginning. The video is set to be released at the end of the month, and at that point, the push will really kick in.

As for the reviews?

Yes, there have been many unfavorable ones, but if anything I'd say the reviews are mixed, as have been the reviews for ALL the American Idol debuts. Including Kelly Clarkson's Grammy nominated "Thankful", and Carrie Underwood's Grammy winning "Some Hearts".

Sorry honey, read 'em and weep.

USA Today gave it 3/4 stars

When Katharine McPhee wowed American Idol crowds with Over the Rainbow, everyone assumed she would make a ballads/standards album. She decided to go the contemporary- pop route, and she makes her self-titled debut a worthwhile trip (* * * out of four).

She does, like far too many younger female singers with poor taste in role models, indulge in an excess of Mariah Carey trills. But her voice is first-rate, and the songs are generally solid and occasionally exceptional.

She'll have plenty of time to do the Diana Krall/Eva Cassidy ballads album. (If this one doesn't sell, she may be forced down that road.) Meanwhile, this is a pleasant pop surprise.

I heard "Over It" a few days ago for the first time and I absolutely loved it. What a catchy pop chorus. She's amazing I love her!

She is co-hosting TRL all this week and Friday is the premiere of her video for "Over It". Her single is rising everyday on the mediabase charts and is currently at #35 in the top 40.

I don't like her first single, Over It so she's going to have to do some convincing on the second one if she wants me to buy it...

I mean I like her and all but Over it isn't that great.

Yeah i agree Over It is not one of the strongest tracks on the album. I only discovered her about 5 days ago and the album has been playing non stop! hasnt left my stereo! hhehe. People at work keep asking me who is she and im like she's Katherine Mcphee! :)

My favorite song is 'Everywhere I Go'! That is the best song on the cd!
