Looks like Kelly Clarkson fans are standing behind her after all. Her new album, My December, debuted at #2 on the billboard top 200 right behind the new Hanna Montana soundtrack/Miley Cyrus combo cd. Looks like people are liking the new sound after all. And it also seems she may have gained some fans because the album debuted one stop higher then Breakaway and sold more then Breakaway did its first week according to www.billboard.com.

What do you all think of the album?

love it! can't wait to get some funds to actually go out and support her by buying it but for now i'm loving my illegally burnt copy...haha

I love the album! I love Kelly! She is amazing and will prove all the people that thought she would bomb wrong! I don't like however how Perez Hilton is making it seem like Kelly failed by debuting at number 2. Like you said it peaked one step higher than breakaway and sold more its first week, and Breakaway was the number 3 best selling CD of 2005 and went 6 times platinum. My December could still pull it off.

How can you say "people are liking the album after all" just because of her first week sales? That simply means people who were already going to buy the album anyway--did.

Now if a month from now it's still holding up, then you have a point.

Sense :D:-) :-)

I like the album. I absolutely love the upbeat track, "How I Feel."

I'm standing beside my prediction that it's not gonna churn out many hits for her anywhere near the 5 top 15 hits "Breakaway" did.

And if you'll think back, "Breakaway" only debuted around No. 6 at the end of 2004 ... it gradually hit No. 3 in the middle of 2005. Clarkson's "Thankful" is her only album to debut at No. 1.

The album is pretty good.

I'm not too happy about the fact that Hannah Montana is #1 , but with all the Kelly hate lately I guess I can't complain too much.

Mariah was the biggest selling 2005 kelly was number 3...got this from nelson soundscan

Mariah Carey. The name comes up on the top position in the list of the Top 10 best-selling albums of 2005. The singer apparently has proven to worldwide that she's hard to beat and thus deserves the predicate of pop diva.

Leading the Top 10 best-selling albums of 2005, Carey has her album "The Emancipation of Mimi" sold for 4.97 million copies, making rapper 50 Cent's "The Massacre" the second best with 4.85 million copies. "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson wins the 3rd place with 3.5 million copies. The 4th best is Green Day's "American Idiot" which is sold for 3.4 million copies, ahead of Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" at No. 5 sold 3 million copies.

No. 6 to 10 in a row are Coldplay's "X&Y" (2.6 million), Rascal Flatts' "Feels Like Today" (2.511 million), Gwen Stefani's "Love.Angel.Music.Baby." (2.505 million), Kanye West's "Late Registration" (2.4 million), and The Game's "The Documentary" (2.3 million).

I bought the CD just to be supportive, as I'd heard she stood up to Clive Davis(who said it was unlistenable and threatened not to release it)...and I think we should always support Artists who stand up for their Art... and I love it so much that I went and bought Breakaway!! I loved her back in the 1st season of American Idol, but it's subsequent SUCKING made me lose interest in her after she won...glad to see she has lived up to all that potential!!

Well I bought the album and heard it a few times already. I cant say I love it cuz I dont. I cant say it sucks cuz it doesnt. I just... dont know... I definitely think its my least favorite out of all her albums.
