This surprises me. Facebook is usually the one standing up for the wrong people. I saw something about nuclear weapons being moved and gonna be honest, immediately clicked away cuz I can't even handle thinking about that right now. I hope I misread. I hope this doesn't mean twitter is a safe haven for russian propaganda. Can you contest the ban?

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I'm not sure the victory in Lyman is an unmitigated joy.

I have the dire foreboding that we will awake one morning soon to a nuclear drop in Ukraine, and I think he will order it at night, even just before dawn.

I assume that you can still be able to "follow" the twitter accounts you did before just by bookmarking them

I have 35 that I follow that way and don't have a twitter account

These algorithms they use suck. They do not understand context. They only look for keywords and act. There is nothing wrong with you said and if they looked at context, they would know that. You simply said what Ukraine should do to win the war.

The biggest problem is, there is no way to appeal these "rulings" because they make it impossible to contact an actual person. You are literally helpless and powerless while they maintain control over you. They say you can go to an oversight board, or whatever, but I think that's just a sham. This "board" never does anything, either.

In the end, we would all probably be better off without Twitter. I've managed to stay away from it. I waste enough time on Facebook as it is.

I have a Twitter account--but only used it for reading stuff others posted. I logged out a long time ago, concerned about people who said they had issues of censorship--or even being kicked off. I still end up there occasionally, but don't log in. They have an annoying screen telling me to log in or sign up. I've found clicking the log in button, then closing the next box gets rid of that. I do not want to be counted as active signed up user of that platform.

I used FaceBook, and it could be a huge time drain. I haven't used in over a year. It was not a particularly pleasant place by many accounts during the months before and after the 2020 election. (I wasn't so bad for me--but then I never had hundreds of "friends" there--but I heard disturbing stories of how toxic things could get.) And, like Twitter, I was concerned about censorship. I'm also became concerned about privacy, and Meta is said to be a big threat of on-line privacy.
