You can find several Japanese interviews with Nomura explaining his ideas on a magazine called Dengeki PlayStation.

And it won't really be "Kingdom Hearts III" It's going by a different name. Probably something like Keyblade Wars or something.

Either way, you're assuming the game will come out next year (pfft! Square-Enix moves at a snail's pace these days...I give it till 2009) and you're assuming that PS3 sales will remain stagnant.

But don't give heart. There's rumors abound that there will be a price drop by the end of the year.

Which is all the PS3 really needs. A price drop.

Well, FFXIII, I think, is going to be PS3 exclusive. However, I'm not spending that much money on a system for two games. I can buy a new PC for that and not need any upgrades on it for several years.

I don't think I ever mentioned anythign about when I thought the game would be released. Where di that come from?
So far the reason polls show the poor PS3 trailing behined the 360, Wii and DS.

You assumed that Kingdome Hearts III would go to other platforms because of current sales...which shows lack of long-term market perception.

"Poor PS3" is trailing behind the other platforms...true....after five months since it's release. I mean, come on. You're smarter than this. You honestly believe that it's first five months is a sure indicator of it's lifespan and the market timeline? Hell no. These "wars" last years. The PS1 had terrible, TERRIBLE sales in it's first year...and they managed to win. Same with the PS2. And it won again.

This generation will last about 8 years. Same as the last generation. You cannot honestly believe that the PS3 in all its factors will remain stagnant. That's just malarky. It will grow. And grow. Same with the other systems.

You need to stop, think and REALLY look into long-term with this market. ALL technology markets are capital-reliant. Meaning their short-term market decisions have very short length in comparision with other markets.

If the PS3 doesn't get a price drop, it's going to suffer. They need it soon especially when Nintendo and Microsoft pull out their heavy hitters.

In truth what the PS3 needs is a really awesome exclusive game and soon. Which is something they're starting to lack.

A price drop will happen. Here's an economic lessons: capital technology always has a negative slope in regardance to cost. Which means the cost of the PS3 production will decrease over time. Which means the firm will have the ability to deduct the nominal price value in the consumer market.

Again, you're assuming that the PS3 lacks exclusive games. Lair is one. Heavenly Sword is another. Little Big Planet is a third. And of course Metal Gear Solid 4 this fall which will cause PS3 sales to skyrocket.

You need to look at the long-term not the short-term. Judging a game system at current sales and current games five months after it's launch is just damn faulty.

The Xbox 360 also had a terrible launch and a terrible first year until they release their first (and currently only) AAA game: Gears of War.

Okay, this isn't about PS3 fanboyism, this is abotu Kingdom Hearts, next incarnation, whether it be III or some other spin-off.

I was simply replying to the statement on whether or not it was going to the PS3. I simply gave my piece.

And it's going to be a new chapter that will have a new name. Most likely "Keyblade Wars".

I'm simply suggesting to broaden your mind a little. These "console wars" are not games, nor battles nor matches. It's competition between firms. And if you've studied economics or business, there are many, many, many factors you have to think about to get a grip on what direction the market is heading.

The PS3 will get better. You know and I know it. It's just a matter of time.

That said, I won't touch a next-gen console until roughly fall 2008. More games, reliable consoles, and better online service. I've never really understood the appeal of getting a piece of technology so early in it's lifecycle when it's still has kinks to work out.

Yes, but the PS2 wasn't selling well in Japan either for a long time.

Best Buy, Circuit city...et al..... When the Wii is on a wait list !

I wish Sony would get over the concept of: "Well, it's a DVD/ blu-ray player as well !"

Who Gives a F ? You can get a upconvert dvd player for under fifty bucks these days.... NOT a great selling point.

If I had to give advice to a newbie, it would be to get a PS2, take advantage of the audio outputs, and enjoy ALL the games that are under 20 bucks...
