"Kyle XY" is airing the series finale this Monday night on ABC Family. I've known it was ending for a couple months now but I'm still sad to see it go. And from the previews for the last episode it looked like they had filmed it for a season finale rather than a series finale. Maybe they can do a TV movie later on. Anyone else hooked on this show?

They most likely did. ABC had only cancelled it a few weeks after the beginning of this season began airing, IIRC. It sucks that just as we were getting somewhere with the story, they cancel it. It doesn't bode well for Lincoln Heights, I don't think, because honestly if any show deserved to go more than others, it would be that. I love LH, but I don't think it pulled in the viewership that Kyle XY or Greek did/does. I wonder if they would have been better off placing Kyle XY in ABC rather than ABC Family. I think they received more viewers on ABC than with the Family showings.

Missing it too I loved that showb but somehow always missed it because it came on the same time as OTH on the CW. I'll miss ya Kyle XY :(

missed it the week that it was announced it was canceled...and haven't watched since then....too many other things to watch on Mondays and I always forget to set the DVR up...guess I'll catch up on the Marathon on Monday.

Yeah, very heart breaking to see this show go. And the reasoning behind it is even worse. AND the fact that it wont be given a proper finale is even WORSE.

But a movie based off of it is not too crazy of an idea. Anyone remember Firefly? Show only lasted like.. ten episodes.. had a nice cult following.. Did amazingly well with DVD sales.. and soon after was given a finale in the movie Serenity.

Kyle XY has its moments but it definitely belongs on ABC family. It has the cheesy all-American perfect parents vibe. It was never the greatest but it totally started to blow when Jessi was introduced. The show would have been much more interesting if Kyle confessed his love for Declan. They have way more chemistry than they do with the girls. Greek on the other hand does belong on regular ABC. But it prolly wouldnt do well since the cast isnt skinny, model designer clothes, and hang out on Robertson.

Any thoughts on the finale?

Overall, I enjoyed it. Though, I hate the fact that the series ends its run with a bomb like the last scene. Hopefully they create a made-for-DVD movie, or series of movies, that will wrap up these stories. Or at least, come out with graphic novels/comics that will complete the series like they did with Angel.

oh goodness...seriously one of the best episodes...I was on the edge of my seat...and then to end the series like that....ugh ABC FAMILY...if it wasn't for "Greek" I wouldn't watch that channel again. I mean they cancel this great show and put on those crap new shows that they kept having commercials for tonight "Roommates" and "Sophia"...no...sorry

Not gonna happen. It's officially dead. I guess the creators spoke about what would have happened and basically it goes like this:

Kyle would become a prophet of some sort and travel the world.. healing people, feeding the world.. and so on. He wouldn't end up with either Jessi or Amanda. He would adventure alone.

Laurie and Declan would, after many years, end up together. Josh and Andy would experience the hell of long distance relationship... but in the very end, would reunite and get married. They were gonna have Andy's cancer resurface, but they decided it would be too difficult to let go of the character like that.

Kyle and Cassidy share the same genetic mother.. But their "relationship" only goes as far as that.

I think that's all they spoke about.

Aww, that sucks. Thanks for the info though. It at least brings some closure to the show. Was this posted anywhere? I must have missed the interview.

It's all there. Look at the comments. It seems ABC / ABC Family just lost a bitchin amount of viewers. And serves them right. I'll only be watching ABC for Desperate Housewives and What Would You Do.

Wow...that's a lot of comments in made within the last 24 hours O_O, though I wonder about the likelihood that ABC will actually take them to heart.

I wonder how long Secret Life will stay on now that the baby is born/about the be born. How much more story could they push out of a show that has a storyline that has been done many times over in other series that cover a whole range of storylines (i.e. Degrassi).

I still don't understand the mindset of the executives at the company when they greenlight Roomates, which looks more suited for CW/UPN than a primetime slot on ABC Fam.

I don't know how Roommates got green lit at all. It looks so.. "been there, done that".

And The Secret Life is just ridiculous. Hopefully the show dies off after the damn kid is shot out.

ABC will most likely not give a damn as to what fans of Kyle think. Besides, there really isn't any point in continuing it now that we basically know what'll happen anyway.

It was a good finale, but that big shocker revelation at the end just left us completely hanging. It's like now we'll be in the dark forever.
Thanks a lot ABC Family! Why don't you get rid of the "Generic Life of a Knocked-Up Teenager" or that "Greek" show that pushes it's gay character so far into the background most of the time that it's hard to tell if he's even still on the show? Please get rid of one of those and keep "Kyle XY"! You sons of bitches.
I guess it's unfortunate that Kyle has to guy away. But "Greek" is the truth.
