Lack of Fiber?

Hi y’all,

So I recently started treatment for an anal fissure that I developed because of my undiagnosed lactose intolerance symptoms and I have to put a gel in my anus twice a day. I’m realizing that despite cleaning beforehand, I always have small feces remains on my finger once I put it in. Tbh, this is really embarrassing. I think I’m clean, but then I see that clearly I’m not. I’m already using baby wipes and cleaning in the shower afterwards.

Is it because of a lack of fiber? I’m thinking about buying a Pure for Men supplement.

When you say "feces" is it actually stool or is it more like mucus?

It’s very small stool, kind of like dots. I’m clean outside, but not inside.

You can try fiber then. Usually bulking agents and insoluble fiber will help with emptying the rectum. Insoluble fibers aren't digested, so they don't get slimy and don't form as much gas. Psyllium-based supplements in small amounts may also helpful since psyllium absorbs water and expands in the gut, where other insoluble fibers like nuts tend to break into small pieces that don't pass out of the colon as easily.
