So I searched and found no thread dedicated to this movie.

I just saw it today, and let me tell you...it was great.
I did cry (twice), but not as hard as I did in Brokeback Mountain.

Just enough sex to make a boy happy, but not so much that it turned into a porn.

As a Southern Baptist who is in the same struggle as he was, it really spoke to me.

Okay, anyone who has seen the movie...post away!

Yeah, I've seen it and I really liked it too. It seems though that there are two camps as there's a lot of people who hate it.

I'm surprised that you didn't find any threads as I'm pretty sure there have been recently. I think I even posted pictures.

I think it was the best gay themed movies ever made. I was born and raised a Latter Day Saint (Mormon) as was Aaron from the movie.
LDS guys are supposed to go on a two year church mission when they reach 19. Over the years I've met many guys that were gay that went on those missions. Some if then knew they were gay when they went, others I think were hoping the mission would change them.
The movie Latter Days helped to show the conflict that a gay guy has when called to a mission for a church that preaches a Gospel that he believes in but doesn't accept his sexuality (same case as was written ^ about the Southern Baptists).
And secondarily, Steve Sandvoss as Aaron.... what a beautifully gorgeous young man.
I surely wish he would be cast in other movies, he is a very good actor and handsome as anyone could wish to be.
 
When I first saw it, I thought I was going to hate it, but I ended up falling in love with it. It's a very well made film and has a great cast.
 
the movie was good

but the ending sucked seemed to be bit contrived

but hey steve sandvoss be nice eye candy
 
Maybe I should watch it again, thought it was just ok.
 
I thought the acting was dire...

Everything was wrong about the film

But as already said there are two camps. Its like Marmite...you either love it ot hate it

A good friend of mines gave me the Dvd of it i thought it was okay it wasn't all that. It has some interesting parts in it. It just dint feel real i like to have that real feeling to it

Am I the only one who thinks this movie was blah!?
Bad acting, slow paced, old cliched storyline, and weak characters. I mean either there is really a dry spell of gay movies out there for this less that spectacular film making to be creeping into everyone's top 10 gay movie lists or I really just find most gay movies boring and hence it's me not the movie that sucks.

I thought it was a good movie. Better than some of the other gay themed movies out there.
 
I agree with some of the previous posters who say its one of the better gay themed movies. i think there were parts of the film that guys could relate to in some way. Not bad and the guys were extremely attractive!
 
It did the job. It showed what others go through in this situation. The family treated him as though he was dead, they were in mourning.

He had no where to go and no-one to care about him, or so it seemed.

I would hope that the non gay community would watch it and become more sensitive to these issues.
