Do you tend to prefer huge detailed sets or minimalist design sets?

I don't know that I have a preference. More detailed is probably better, but as long as you get the atmosphere of the set, it is okay. I like to go to small community theaters where I don't sit too far back. Some theaters I've been to have seating on three sides so there can't be too much setting and I love some theaters where the fourth row is the last row, so obviously their budget is small, but they sometimes do amazing things with the set anyway.

I don't go to any of those events you mentioned.

But your question did trigger a memory. As a young child, at some point in my first 3 years of school, the older students (I'm sure it was High School kids) put on a play. It was the Wizard of Oz. I was familiar with the movie but the play was so real to me at that age. The witch and the monkey's flying across the stage. And of course the looks of the main characters.
