Okay first of all raped twice in a four month period? Was it by the same person?

You need to not allow yourself to get into that position, the one that allows these horrid things to happen.

What are you doing if I may ask, that allow this to happen?

Turn the offenders ass in please. Do you want this to happen to another individual?

As far as I know, and it differs with each state and local municipality, if you go to counseling they do not have the right to turn it over to the Authorities unless you are a minor. It would be totally up to you to seek charges. If I were you I would, people who do this are predators and need to prosecuted!

And please, PLEASE, PLEASE don't allow yourself to be placed in this situation again.

Stay safe.

First priority is to get yourself to a clinic. There are "morning after" drugs that are not normally handed out except in special circumstances such as yours. They will only work if taken within a short time of a risky sexual encounter, so please don't hesitate.

I can't know what the procedures are where you live, but my recommendation is to be upfront with the people trying to help you and not fabricate a covering story. No one can make a case without your testimony, so there is no way anyone can force you into making a police complaint. It's up to you.

Secondly, you need to find someone with professional experience to help you work through this. You already know from your previous experience that you can't simply brush this off. Get help.

Thirdly, you can take steps to lessen your potential as a victim. Your counselor should be able to help you with this. Drink for enjoyment but not to get drunk (at least when you are out in a public place) would be my obvious first step.

Generally, we encourage the person who has been assaulted to report it to the police. If you come to the emergency room and have a rape kit done, then there will be evidence if it goes to trial. Without evidence, it is difficult to make a case.

But there are bigger issues here and it is time that you saw a therapist to deal with those issues.

It is real, whether you face up to it or not.

It is real, and you don't even need to have the energy to deal with it yourself. That's what doctors, police, therapists are for.

You say you need to focus on getting yourself through this. I'm pretty sure it will mean a lot to you one day to know you stood up for yourself and pushed back through every legal means possible.

Anyway, is there no way you can get to an emergency room and get some of the medical stuff over with?

Sorry to hear about this man. Some people just can't help themselves cause they have prolly had this done to them also. Maybe he has been abused and raped and that's why he did it to you. I just think you need to pace yourself and do one thing at a time. First, go to the clinic and see a therapist. Then, after you've had some time to settle maybe you can report it but if your gonna do that you need to get a rape kit done as suggested above. Just know we're here for you! (*8*)

Good news man glad to hear that! Anyways keep us updated. Just remember we are all here for you.

^^ there are worse things than the side effects. you should worry about them when and if they materialize.

... and frankly, so what if you suffer a bit in the short term? your body will bounce back soon enough once you stop taking them.

it sounds like you're on the right track. it's good that you went and were open with them about what happened and also that they can offer counseling. take advantage of it! (*8*)

I don't know. Is there a follow-up visit at the clinic where you could ask? In my city the hospitals run a health info hotline and you can just call and speak to a nurse who can look these things up.

Think of it as being one day closer to freedom, even if it is a rough day. Soon the side effects of the medication will be behind you, and you'll know that you've done the right thing for your health.

All anti-virals have a tendency to cause some side-effects. Some are temporary and annoying. Others can be more serious with long term use however with PEP, the course is usually very short and the long-term effects aren't as apparent.

Many people complain of stomach upset or nausea during the first few days of therapy. These symptoms usually get better within a couple of weeks as your body adjusts and you learn to time your meals with the meds.

Given your history of alcohol use, you will also want to have some lab work done to ensure that the drugs are not affecting your liver and pancreas. They should also test to ensure your blood cell counts are not adversely affected.
