Pretty much all of my life, i have been overweight. A coulple years ago (i think when I was 18), I weighed about 285. I stopped drinking soda, ate a little better, and got a job that required me to be on my feet for about 8 hours. I gradually dropped down to my current weight of 235 lbs.

Now i have hit a wall, and I haven't lost any weight in over a year. I've been trying to replace a meal with salad every day, but it's not working out very well.

My mom has been doing Jenny Kraig, and has lost a lot of weight. I was just wondering if anyone has had any success with this or a similar system. I really want to lose my bitch tits.

I have great success with Weight Watchers, was 331 now down 78 pounds looking to loose my next 20, want to get to a 200 weight. Try it , it works and a helluva lot cheaper than Craigs, also they have the greatest lose record and greatest medical approval. They have 2 programs, one called Flex and the other called Core, I am on the Core now and its thegreatest, you can visit a meeting without joining to see what it is all about. Good luck.

Honestly salads never really worked for me. I dropped from 235-40, down to 165, what helped was exercise and eating smaller portions throughout the day. The other thing that really helped was just eating small meals every 3 hours, something healthy like fruit, and not eating really large meals. I read somewhere that that type of process helps to kick start your metabolism. But different things work for different people. The best bet is to talk to a nutritionist and they can help you start something

you are 21...you dont need drastic measures like salads to reduce weigyht..but a healthy way of living which you can follow for the whole of your life..go weight training..muscles= best fat burning instruments...dont over do yourself ..set realistic goals..eat healthy...6 times a day...cut of all those junky snacks/saturated fat/alcohol/sugar/ too much red meat [some is good] and do a bit of light-medium cardio regularly ..and you will see the results soon

I really do want to exercise, i just have trouble getting into the habit with my work schedule, which is all over the place. I have a bike and a treadmill in my basement that I got from my Grandma, and my dad's old bench press. It seems every time i try to get in the habbit, my work schedule keeps me from doing it for like 4 days, and by then, the cycle is broken and it takes me like a month to start again.

The eating smaller meals through out the day is kinda why i'm really thinking of the eating programs. The food my mom eats is all quick microve meals and bars and fruit, stuff that i can easily eat at work. I don't really get solid lunch breaks, and I am busy a lot and rarely get to sit down.

I've got a little lateral thigh trainer thingy, small compact, you can keep it by your bed and just do 100 steps before you do anything, whenever you get time. Its not a total workout but its something that can get you sweating, thats when your gonna loose the most weight from an exercise. just count 100 steps each time you go on there, doesn't take a minute.

(I've been using the elastic arm bands, boy are the muscles on my arms getting bigger!)

try cutting out a little more food out of each meal... cut out carbs completely until you feel your at a weight u can manage and then u can have a little bit back...

by carbs i mean wheat products and potatoes and anything with sugar in it other than the natural sugar that comes from fruits.

now you've been on your feet a lot but u stopped losing weight... which means u need to be on your feet even more...

what worked for me is i started to use an excercise bike for about an hour EVERYDAY or i would walk home from work which takes a little more than an hour...

I also started working out every other day

it worked for me.. i lost 40lbs in about 4months...

P.S. the more you work your muscles the more energy your muscles will burn normally causing your metabolism to speed up and help you maintain a healthy weight so its a good idea to add working out to your routine

P.P.S. diets never work in the long run... you need to permanently change the way you eat and i gotta say counting calories is a pain in the ass

just make sure u eat around 2000 calories a day or less (not too much less)

First off, congrats on the weight loss.

My own personal experience is quite similar to yours. When I was in eighth grade, I weighed 265 pounds. I ate poorly and never exercised. After changing and refining my diet and exercise program, it became a lifestyle change, not just a diet.

The weight continued to drop and finally after losing 100 pounds, I hit a wall. It's been over a year now and I haven't been able to get rid of the last bit of fat.

As far as your weight loss is concerned, there are a few things to think about:

1. Do you drink alcohol?
2. Do you eat fried, fatty, or sugary food?
3. Are you exercising? If so, is it time to intensify your workout?

I hope this helps. It's not easy, but you can do it!

Well, i've been doing a pretty good of sticking to my diet. I don't know exactly how many calories i'm eating (i'm aweful at that), but I have been keeping an eye on it. I have completly cut out fast food and beer. I eat ceareal in the morning instead of pop tarts, I've been grilling skinless chicken breast, and snacking on fruit.

I've been working out every night when possbile (some nights my work schedule just wont allow it). I do a five minute warm up on the bike to get the blood flowing a little. Then I do about 5-10 minutes of strectches. then I do 25-30 minutes of bike again. I follow that up with some light weight training (bench press, curls, ect.) and then some crunchers.

walmart sells a cheap eliptical for about $50 dollars. Is this worth it, or is it probably just a peice of junk. I like elipitcals a lot better than running cause it doesn't hurt my back.

also, what is a good healthy cereal to eat? I've been eating honey nut cheerios.

I dropped to 215, so I though I would update some pics from my new webcam. Mind the crumbieness of the pics. There is also a full frontal in my gallery.

On another note, are there any lunchmeats that aren't too fatty?

any processed food is going to be fatty, your better off buying lean fresh meat from the butchers, grilling, slicing and keeping in the freezer. then you know for a fact that there are no additives and extra salt and shit.

also, doing heavy excercise (weight training) every day doesnt do a lot of good. your muscles build while your in a rest state, you should do it every other day.

i found walking to be the best form of excercise for me, and occasionally gentle jogging 3 times a week.

as little as 20 crunches and push-ups every other day will make a differance, everyone has time for that before they go to bed right?

I always do get my meat from a deli. I was just asking which meats (if any) were the best for you.

The key things are to reduce your portions, eat five times a day, and exercise. Stay away from junk food and processed sugar.

To lose weight initially, you might want to limit/remove your carbs if you aren't exercising.

ah ok, sorry, misunderstood.

in which case no meat is bad for you technically, if it as lean as possible and cooked without oil.

try to avoid fattier things like goose and duck (hehe i know, not your every day meat but worth mentioning) and try not to load up on red meats to often, turkey is leaner than chicken so if your going for poultry i would head for the turkey if possible.

as the old saying goes "all things in moderation"

as long as they are lean cuts and cooked without oil or sauce then your fine

(just try not to eat meat every day)

So i've been trying to lift weights about every other day and I have been seeing some results. I was wondering about Whey protein and creatine. The packages say "for serious bodybuilding". Are these worth using under my circumstances?
