I have been looking on the net about low disk space, You are running out of disk space on [drive]. To free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click here. Does any one know another way? Step by step would be great because I  am getting  . Thanks.

One thing you might want to do is to set the size of your Recycle Bin. By default, I believe Windows still sets 10% of your drive space as your garbage can. That was fine when hard drives were 500 megs or so. These days, 10% of a 20 gig drive is a lot of wasted space.

You should be able to set the space by pointing at the Recycle Bin on your Desktop and clicking the Right mouse button. Select PROPERTIES and set the 'Reserved' space to a lower number. (I have mine set at 1%.)

That in itself will free up a whole lot of space.

Pshaw. Just delete some of the porn you don't watch anymore. That'll clear up tons of room. :p

Well it will sorta depend on the size of your hard drive. If you have a relatively small hard drive say 8-10 GB then you might be running out of space just because you have programs installed.

Go into your "my computer" and right click on your hard drive and select properties. or usually you can just hover your mouse over your hard drive icon in "my computer' and it will usually say how big your drive is and how much space you have left.

If you have any old programs that you don't use anymore that are still installed you should uninstall them.

You could try installing CCleaner here: http://www.filehippo.com/download/9838386a743262a2d7aaedfb3b432ae2/download/
however, if you are really low on hard drive space, then this is just another program which will take up more space. But it generally gets rid of a few hundred MB worth of stuff for me, so it might be worth it to you to try, but again it will sorta depend on how much space you actually have left.

Well, the best thing is to upgrade to a bigger hd. Nowadays they aren´t so expensive.

Eh... AK isn't a completely desolate wasteland, devoid of any technology. He's on the internet, isn't he? ;) Anchorage is a fairly decent sized city with a little over a quarter million residents. Juneau and Fairbanks are big enough to carry stores that will sell a HD, as well. And those are just the ones that I know about.

Do you have Google desktop? It takes up an astonishing amount of space. I deleted that program a couple of months ago and freed up tons of space and stopped getting that message.

Either you filled up your harddrive with programs yourself, then you should know that your space is limited by now, or the programs leave some kind of useless temporary files which you can delete with CCleaner for example, like mentioned above.
