I have no idea. Martha Byrne's Lily gave birth to Luke in 1995 which would technically make him only 12 ... but all of us die-hard soap fans know about SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome). Maybe young Snyder suffered from that? 
In all honesty, I love Van Hansis but he has no chemistry with way-too-tall Jake Silbermann and I'm more compelled by ATWT's other meatier tales right now: Who Killed Madam Cheri Love (as played by the incredible Robin Mattson)???
And Marie Masters' Susan falling off the wagon and dealing with her drug-addicted, porn star, prostitute daughters.
I'm also digging how desperate Maura West's Carly has become. And to all the other long-time fans of the 51-year-old CBS show: Evan Walsh IV is coming back ... but I'm guessing he's the grown up son of Evan Walsh, that EXTREME hottie who was dating Barbara back in the mid-1990's. Ewww, I hate SORAS!

According to the character description on soapcentral.com in Fall 2005 Luke had kidney failure and received a transplant. I believe this was the time when Kin Shriner was on the show and involved in the illegal organ donor business.
I was quite disappointed to see Robin Mattison murdered. Even though she wasn't the most sympathetic soul I liked the way Cheri stood up to Dusty. Ever since that whole Dusty and Jennifer storyline he has become such a moral compass for Oakdale, one that I just don't buy.
I am really loving the Rosanna/Paul pairing. Scott Bryce as Craig is such a favorite, it's so great to see the original actor back in the role. No one plays tortured vulnerability like Bryce.

Awww, yeah, Benjamin, I remember that. That's when Kim Zimmer's son was playing Luke and another reason why I can't stand that $*#!@. When Zimmer found out they were going to make Luke "come out," she insisted he quit the show.
And voila, we are rewarded with the Emmy nominated Van Hansis.
Re: Rosanna/Paul. Bleh! I adore me some Cady McClain and am glad she's out of that 28 month coma but Roger Howarth -- four years after assuming the role -- still isn't Paul Stenbeck to me. He's still Todd Manning.
I hope Rosanna turns back into a bitch, though!

So who was the better Paul Ryan for you? I think Roger Howarth has become so much easier on the eye since cutting all that hair. This will definitely be dating myself by Andy Kavovit will always be the original Paul for me. Although, I wasn't watching much at the time but Scott Holroyd was pretty hot.
Rosanna as a bad girl? Must have been another time I wasn't watching much. Wonder how long they will be able to keep Cady McClain this time, that woman sure doesn't like to stay in any one place for long.

I'm gonna have to vote for the 2002-2003 Scott Holroyd as my fave Paul (even better than that 1996 model who had the job for one day, lol). They only hired Howarth because he is a huge soap star and became readily available in 2003. I've been watching him since he began on "One Life To Live" in early 1993 and I have never found him attractive but that's another post.
As for Cady McClain, well you do have a point but I think she's gonna stick around "As The World Turns" for a while this time. "All My Children," firing her a few months ago probably grounded her and made her realize how precious it is to have a job and all this soap-hopping (hi, Jacob Young) isn't gonna last for the rest of her career.

Cammtl: Luke went to some third world country with Julia Larrabee's brother, while there he contacted some sort of infection that I believe compromised his kidneys. He then started drinking because of his father's infidelity thus needing a kidney transplant. Meanwhile, the kidney that he received was bought by Lilly on the blackmarket, something which appears to have been dropped immediately afterwards.
