Despite having awesome health insurance, I have never been one of those individuals that ran to the doctor's office for every little sniffle, cough, scrape, or bruise. But now after being diagnosed with high lupus, I am at a quandary: I've had congestion, a sore throat, cough, and now wheezing for almost 4 days now. I got my flu "nasal spray" back in September and haven't had the flu since I was 7; with no fever, I still believe I don't have the influenza, and I don't feel it necessary to go in, but my family are more concerned.
I don't mean to sound all gangsta, but lupus is whack! My immune system is all on overdrive attacking healthy cells, so now that I have a cold, do I continue on with my usual diet-cure of extra raw fruits and vegetables and juices or do I try to subdue it? Beh, I'll give my rheumatologist a call in the morning.
