M. Night Shyamalan's THE HAPPENING

Ever since The Village and Lady in The lake or Water..whatever..I'm so over Shyamalan..he is overrated and hasn't had a decent movie since The Sixth Sense.

Great poster, but the guy is looking more and more like a one hit wonder.

Lady in the Water was utterly dreadful.

It has my attention, but I lost every bit of respect I had for him with Lady in the Water.

I even liked The Village and Signs...

The Village. A BIG disappointment. Never bother about him again.

I can't stand this pompous douche-bag. He had one good movie and suddenly he's Gods gift to the world of cinema. I wish this self-important egomaniac would just go away.

I loved all of his movies, except for Lady In The Water, I Even loved The Village, I just Loved the Ending!

The Happening is a paranoid thriller in which a family must survive a global environmental crisis.[1] The film will portray the earth as a victim of mankind's doings, which causes a global backlash. Elliot Moore, the main character figures out these conflicts, due to his being a high school biology teacher. In the center, lies a conflict between him and his wife, in which he must settle before she threatens to end their marriage

Meh.

Shyamalan is one of the best directors in the business. ALL of his movies are visually stunning and he has a great talent for putting the scripts onto the screen. His problem is that he puts HIS scripts onto the screen. As a writer, he's very pretentious and needs serious help with his dialog.

The Sixth Sense was a great movie all around. Unbreakable was an interesting take on the superhero movie and was pretty well-written. Signs was a really effective horror and suspense movie but lacked the masterful execution that The Sixth Sense had. The Village was poorly-written but was beautifully-made. Lady In The Water was a very self-indulgent movie and he showed his pretention in making it.

His films have gone down-hill and he has A LOT to prove with this new one after Lady In The Water. If he pulls the same crap he did with that movie, his career will effectively be over.

If he teamed-up with a good screenwriter, I really think he could easily be an Oscar-worthy director.

I only liked Signs and The Sixth Sense. The rest were just not good. The Village was just pointless to me. Get me all scared to find out it was nothing at all. Maybe that was the point but I just thought it was stupid. I didnt even give Lady In The Water a chance and prolly never will.

I like his work. I even liked Lady in the Water. It was like a fairytale. And fairytales kick ass ..|

I read the title of this thread and I said, "How can you make a movie about a Supreme song?". I liked The Villiage, I think the point of the movie was to show how people can be ruled by fear.

i liked Lady In The Water.
my favorite of his is probably Unbreakable.

i'm very skeptical about this new one though.

I enjoy reading the opinions and keeping score about who likes what.

I liked Unbreakable more than SIXTH SENSE. When Bruce Willis fell in the pool, I was breathless. That was the last successful twist he's used for me though.

My brother and I both LOVED Lady in the Apartment Complex Pool Cave. It was very optimistic about taking responsibility for our world. An Inconvenient Fairy tale.

I loved all of his movies, except for Lady In The Water, I Even loved The Village, I just Loved the Ending!

The village is nothing more than a long episode of "The Twilight Zone". It was't bad.
I didn't mind. But Lady in the water should have stayed underneath the water.
I was so glad I didn't go see it in the theater. I saw all his movies in the theater except the last one. After Lady I have to think twice if I want to spend money on his movie anymore.
