MacOSX 10.6: guest account deletes files!

It's clearly some bug that's been caused by the standard way the Guest Account works - since 10.5 (Leopard), the guest account is 'reset' upon logout. Obviously something just went a little bit screwy with that guy and deleted his standard account too. I've used guest accounts in OS X a lot (I don't trust my sister with my admin account, for one), and have never had a problem.

It is rare and only occurs under certain circumstances. Read the article before you panic. If you used a guest account in 10.5 you need to disable it, restart then recreate a user account in SN. I think that's what it says but if you didn't and it looks like your stuff is gone, time for super user!

I read several reports where people said that they got a few hundred megabytes to gigabytes free filespace .. I doubt that in this case the files were just in another folder ..
