When was the last time you went to a mall, indoor or outdoor? Was there a good selection of stores still? How was the prices?

We're I'm at we have the biggest mall in our area and it's got plenty of stores, entertainment and restaurants all in one place

What I miss in most malls today are the bookstores (B Dalton comes to mind), the music stores (I mean sheet music & instruments, not records & tapes), the computer software stores (like Babbages or Softwarehouse) and game stores (board games). Malls, IMO, have too many clothing & accessory stores, jewelry stores and shoe stores.

Some of the malls have changed to outdoor strip malls and closed some stores, but there are still a few indoor malls. Although some stores are empty, there is still a selection of stores. I go to the indoor mall to walk in bad weather, whether is is too cold or too hot or raining, but walk outside most of the time in the summer. I was there just last week. I rarely shop in any of the stores, being old and retired I don't need much, and the prices are on the high side, but sometimes still in range. I would not have any good indoor place to walk if they closed my favorite mall.

Great to fight zombies in.

probably 10 years ago.
I don't do malls because in my city it is full of the wrong type of shops. Of no interest to me

I never pay full retail price - so if I go to a mall it's because they have several discount retailers like TJ Maxx - HomeGoods - Marshall's - Ross

The biggest mall around here is the Bullring in Birmingham city centre. I walk past it regularly, but I can't remember the last time I went inside. It's full of the usual high street chains, although a number have closed down over the last couple of years for one reason or another, including Debenhams, Topshop and GAP.

Our indoor mall is still anchored by a major food store and is where we get our haircuts, so we are there on a regular basis. It only has about 3 small stores closed at any time.
But I would also say that most of the stores are of no interest to us and we don't do a lot of shopping there except around Christmas.

Our malls are doing just fine.

The best steakhouse in the area is sited in the stylish outdoor mall, as well as several other popular eateries, and various haberdasheries.

The older mall across town remains a regular haunt for the young and for families with free range children and teens. Of course, I find the food court dismal, and even stopped attending a gamers' Meetup group because that is the place they gathered. However, I've never been a fan of the marketing that malls use nor the consumerism that they engender, so I'm not their target demographic.

Whereas many malls have faltered, the proclamation that they are all dying is simply wrong, kind of like the bookstores. We still have a Barnes & Noble sited in a crappy neighborhood, but doing just fine.

I think the last time I was in an actual mall (ie: an indoor mall) was pre-pandemic -- around Christmas 2019.
I personally don't consider "strip malls" (what I call 'shopping centers') to be a mall. But if counting those, it'd be sometime fairly recently.

I usually only go to Bath and Body Works, Hot Topic, and Spencers Gifts. I don't really go to any other store usually buy my clothes at walmart or target its rare for a big chub bear to be able to shop in regular stores all that designer shit is so small even twinks need a large to look like a small,
