I bought it the other day but I haven't played it yet. I'm not familiar with the franchise but I'm hoping that I love it. Anyone else have it yet and what are your thoughts?
 
I don't have 8 yet but LOVED most entries by the Mario Party franchise
 
I've been playing the Mario Party games since the first one on N64. The first one was great, but they've been going downhill since. The game continues to get more and more random, it's frustrating. Someone who has been losing the entire game can suddenly win the gold because a lucky roll lets them steal everyone's stars without any effort.

Number 8 is definitely golden, though. They've removed the random bullshit a lot of the older iterations have, so it actually takes a bit of planning. It's a great game, and a must have for people who have friends over often.
 
I've been a Mario Party addict since number 1 also and I can definitely say that 8 is a GREAT addition to the series. It makes great use of the Wii's features and is just all around a great game.

Still the best thing to do with a group of friends, too. =D
 
You know.. I used to like the mario parties a lot. But I still think MP2 is the best of all. Cant wait to see that one on the virtual console!

Im not sure yet if Im getting MP8. There are other games Id rather pay for before getting yet ANOTHER mini game collection on Wii.
 
i heard it sucked. I'm going to wait on getting another mario party, i just got 7 and alll the games i have for wii so far are party games lol
 
Overall, it's a pretty good series so you'll probably enjoy it.

In my opinion 8 has turned out to be best of all. Doing mini games with the wiis motion detection is bbeeyyoonnddd fun(especialy the soda shaking game which youll win if you jack off alot........). Plus they have streamlined the board system, the games dont seem to drag out for as long, and the boards are more interesting(on is very similar to monopoly)
 
my biggest problem was that the game is only 4 players...come on!!!! that is not a party...wario ware had games that could support 12...much better game...if you dont mind 4 player games then get Rayman Raving Rabbids....it is hillarious
 
I don't own it, but I played it for almost three days straight this past weekend with friends.

It is soooo much fun! It's a lot better with four people. I like it a lot. The soda shaking game (like YaoiBoy said) is hilarious - I usually win it too. Does that mean I give mean hand jobs? Possibly. :badgrin:

Also, there's the one where you have to pump the cart around a track and the one where you have to wave like a madman in order for a boat to come and rescue you on an island.

Needless to say, it's a great drinking game too. That, and my shoulder and elbow hurt the next day!
