Well, at least I give the Straight Talk Express credit for being honest with what most of us have suspected for years now, that we are really in Iraq to protect our oil interests. Nice to know that for our efforts, we get a great price on that very oil we are protecting.

Again, not a big shock, but at least it's good to finally hear confirmation from someone's lips who is running for President.

Kind of contradicts the ol' Straight Talk Express' very own words here, though ...

LOL. "Fight them there, so we don't have to fight them here!" I am so tired of that old tagline. Wonder why McCain had a change of heart and decided to tell the truth?

As far as George W, he has some real explaining to do.

^ McCain in the second video sounds exactly like George Bush ..... 'only he knows what our servicemen are thinking and only he is in possession of the facts'. ](*,)

Oh, oh, McCain blew it. He was supposed to keep this a
big dark secret .
I bet George Bush blew his stack when he heard McCain tell the audience that it's all about the oil.

Here, I would say the Straight Talk Express accidentally did give us some straight talk. They have since back pedaled on this statement. But, most of us know that we wouldn't be in Iraq if it wasn't for oil.

Yet another liar, and double talker in the White House. Lovely. And I love how he tries to claim it's a FACT that the people in the military want to be there because they're fighting for our safety, despite the FACT that Paul got more donations from the armed forces.

^ In June of 2000 George Bush promised to lower the price of gasoline "through sheer force of personality". His plan was to create enough "good will" with OPEC that they would willingly increase output thereby decreasing the price of crude oil. When he said that, he was in the process of telling the country how terrible Bill Clinton and the Democrats had muddled up our foreign relations.

What happened? Oil has gone from $35 per barrel to $115 dollar per barrel, and gasoline has gone from $1.70 to nearly $4.00.

The tin foil hat brigade will have a field day with this!! The grand neocon conspiracy is revealed after 5 years by John McCain. We are there for oil and oil only, but somehow our logic is not right for we import million pounds of fuel to Iraq to sustain daily military operations; our oil price will not be coming down any time soon, but yet after 5 years those dumb neocons who fooled us into the war, can't exploit the oil to bring the prices down after so long? I wonder why hasn't our empire try to rebuild Iraq's oil producing and refining capacity, if we are in for oil?

That's a very good question. And on that note, I'd like an answer of why the Iraqis have Billions of dollars of our money from this oil sitting in American banks overseas, and why they continue to reap all the profits while our economy is put in a recession. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

And here I was thinking we were in Iraq for the short term good of Bush's political career.

Ill say this anyone who thinks that whomever is running for president is gonna get us out of Iraq is a fool.

Its just not gonna happen.

Yes, he caught up, but this is newsworthy because..... why exactly?? Everyone else has admitted it, even the Big Bad Bush Monster has admitted it.

I hate that man. The thought of him as President sends shivers down my spine.

What's even more scary is that he admitted in the clip that we are there for oil, yet he was a staunch supporter of the troops surge, and of course made the 100 years comments, as well.

So basically, he does not care, if we are there for 100 years fighting a War for Oil.

As McCain likes to say "my friends" yes we are in Iraq for oil.

The video's been taken down...

As far as supporting the surge and "100 more years" (you HAVE heard that in its full context, right? A place where it's much more benign, especially when compared to all those Wright quotes people say were "taken out of context"), one must consider that we are in Iraq NOW. Either for oil or not, we have to do something semi-responsible to try and patch up that catastrophe. Even if we originally went there "for oil", why we're there now (and how quickly we can get out) is more damage control. The surge included.
