I am wanting to watch movies from Collegeboys247.com. My media player gives me an error message stating it can't open this file type. How do I fix it?

You could try out VLCPlayer, which can handle lots of different formats thrown at it (including .WMV). Obviously Windows Media Player itself should handle its native format by default. It's possible (it varies, depending on site and verification method) the file also needs appropriate purchase/decryption. You can run the small GSPOT utility on the file to confirm you have the right flavor/version of codecs, etc.

To find out what you're using, it should say in the top bar itself or go Help --> About to see product name and version. I assume you mean you're just using the default Windows Media Player that ships with Windows by Microsoft?

Thanks trinket!

I have Version 11.0.6001.7008 .

This must be your version of Windows Media Player because VLC is only up to 1.1.3 so far.

As the others have said, download VLC and make that your default media player. That way your media files will automatically be opened by VLC and should stop the kind of error messages you've been getting from your other media player.
