I went down to my bank this morning to pick up my new credit card. Directly inside the door is the reception desk. To the left are the ATMs and the classed-in and locked-door section for business transactions with space for 2 tellers. Beyond the business section is the counter with enough room for 5 tellers.
Nobody was at the reception desk and one man was behind the glass in the business section. There were 4 tellers on duty and all of them were men. I didn't see a single (or married in case you are thinking of being funny) woman all the time I was there.
(I had a bonding moment with Cody. Short, blond hair and cute as hell. His fingerprints are on both my client card and my new credit card.)
Now, I've been with that bank since the early 1980s and the vast majority of tellers have been women, and the banks I have been in have, for the most part, been tended by women. This is the first 'all male tellers' I've ever encountered.
Have you ever been served by men in a place where you would normally expect women?
