I you consider xp at $299 and vista at $399. you get $698. From Feb. 2000 to Nov. 2007 Apple has made 6 versions @ $129. Assuming you upgraded to every other one you would have paid $390. if you are still using a Mac prior to 2000. I know of one person that is using one that old and he is using 10.3 on it. In addition, many new features came with each upgrade and offered the user a more secure and user friendly OS. Please note that every copy of OSX is a full version, not a stripped down version. Also interesting to note is with OSX each new version runs faster than the one it replaced, not slower.
Ummm ok and Windows does the same. Besides the slower Vista (because it requires a lot of processing power) everything you just said, Microsoft also does. Except the pricing as well too I guess.
Vista came out with tons more features AND is more secure. One thing no one debates, is that it is more secure than XP. The stripped down version of Vista is Vista basic, and no one has to buy it.
It was the same for XP, and the same for 98. There were some inbetween that were complete pieces of shit, but hey, we knew it and Microsoft fixed it. I really don't see the point of your post? You are trying to make a point, but you arnt.
Macfanboy: "Ohhh Apple does it this way!"
Intelligent person: "Ummm so does Microsoft dude. Despite certain roadbumps. They pretty much do the same thing"
MFB: "Well you just proved my point!!! Mac doesn't hit road bumps!!!"
IP: "Ummm, well wern't there some major problems with leopard that was pissing people off?"
MFB:"...Shut Up! Mac is still better"
*end* he never proved his point.
I find Windows more user friendly than OS X to tell the truth. You have to go through too many extra steps to do simple things, and I really just dislike the experience I have had on all Mac machines I have picked up.
My lab just got two new Mac's and I set them up, turned them on, and found nothing new or special. The last Mac I used had only 256MB RAM so it was obviously slow. And the other was older and had compatability problems. These two new Mac's are running the previous version and it isn't horrible, but I don't see much difference besides it is faster. Sooooo what is so great about Mac again?
I mean you can spout off the upgrades of OS X over the years, but Microsoft does the exact same thing, just in a different fashion.
