A couple of weeks ago me and Trawler69 got a bit bored so decided to visit our local PCWorld. Anyone tech savvy enough will know how shit they are and the staff haven’t got a clue what they are talking about. The “Tech Guys” are just as bad.

So we decided we were going to have a bit of fun in there... We went on to one of the computers and searched the internet for a picture of a BSOD, we then hid the desktop items, hid the start menu and set the BSOD picture to the desktop background:

It was quite amusing watching people going up to it and reading the BSOD :D

We also had a look around for the worst deals we could find:

Number One

As you will know, a lot of new computers no longer ship with a Restore Disk to restore back to factory settings, they pre-install the software and you have to create them yourself. This great deal is a nice DVD box with 3 blank DVDs in. The price.....£15!!!..... Yes that is £15 for 3 blank disks. £5/disk.

Number Two

When you buy a printer a lot of them don’t come bundled with a USB cable. What is needed is a simple USB A to USB B cable. On eBuyer you can get one of these for £0.90. In PCWorld they cost £14.99!

Anyone have any PCWorld (Or other computer shop) related stories?

We don't have PCWorld here but the inept tards that work at Best Buy have to be some of the worst in the industry. More than likely their qualifications for hiring consist of how many fry-o-lators you've operated at McDonald's in the past. They're clueless, and what's worse, are often rude.

I've always made my electronics purchases at Circuit City. I've found their prices aren't always the lowest, but if you found your item cheaper at a competitor they have no problem matching the price. Further, their customer service has always been outstanding. I've never left a Circuit City unsatisfied that a situation wasn't resolved to my liking.

we have a similar store here. i once had great fun there, placing a linux live-cd in every dvd-drive and rebooting the machines :)

Her Majesty's Department of Homeland Security wishes to inform you that you have been identified as terrorists. You are directed to report to authorities at Guantanamo, Cuba, for non-prosecution of your crimes forever.

I suppose I should point out that we surfed the net through my N95 for the BSOD as Pisseyworld have internet connections locked down. But it was fun watching muppets staring at the BSOD and also leaving a a price comparison page with pc world on Amazon open on another machine.

We'll probably get banned from there but it was good fun and we had a giggle. Of course I blame Kins123 for leading me astray, I would normally never dream of having so much fun:D

Haha, PC World is so fucking gash.
Worst "computer" store around, I swear..

:rotflmao: @ the BSOD message, though.. That's an absolute riot!

I miss our CompUSA, but like PCWorld the deals and prices never made sense. It was also best to just get in the store find your stuff and leave without having to talk to anyone who was worked there in case they felt they knew more than yourself.

Nice job on the BSOD message.

Oh wow, I would have loved to see the expressions on the workers faces.
