I Think The Most Boring movie Ever Is "Out Of Africa"

I Love Meryl Streep Dont Get me Wrong, But This movie Bites the Big One.

When She Says She Has Syphillis, And Robert Redford Says "I Know"

Im Like WTF?

But Whatever, What Do you Think Is The Most Boring moie?

Lost In Translation ..... What an over rated piece of crap! Went to see it because it had such good reviews and walked out about two thirds of the way through. It was boring beyond belief.

Young Frankenstein!.... I'm going to see the show on Broadway and i cant wait! so i thought i would rent the movie first... i odnt thiknk i do well with black and white!... but im still so excited to see the Show!

"Gerry" springs to mind. It's a Gus Van Sant film from 2002. Supposedly "experimental", it's filled with mind-numbing stretches of characters doing ordinary mundane stuff (mostly walking) without any dialog. Literally several minute chunks of just walking and the sound of shoes on dirt. When there is dialog, it's often in a weird internal shorthand. The only two things that kept me watching were 1) A hope that the pace would ramp up as the film's ending grew nearer, that the whole movie was an experiment in some sort of cinematic acceleration and slow climax (unfortunately this was not to be :( ), 2) Hottie Casey Affleck and distracting myself from the boredom with ongoing wishful thinking that if this were pr0n, he'd be getting hot and heavy with co-star Matt Damon in a barren desert. ..| (unfortunately, no luck on this aspect either.)

Well I'm currently watching The Sentinel with Michael Douglas and Eva whats-her-name from Desperate Housewives and I'd say that has to be up there as one of the most borning films ever made.

Her name is Eva Longoria - Parker and i quite enjoyed the Sentinel. My cousin used to say only boring people get bored.

oh god.

the village.

dont even get me started on this one -.-

I thought the village was pretty good, yes some of the lines were laughable but i was more interested in the human story behind it along with the psychology of the movie and its theme.

Not to mention the big jawdropper scene with the knife.

The director knows how to set the mood.

I Think The Most Boring movie Ever Is "Out Of Africa"

I found Out of Africa to be breathtaking and emotionally satisfying. I love how it deals with real life situations. Yes its a bit slow in developing the relationship; but the cinematography is so beautiful it creates sets romantic tone. Lets not even talk about the great score :). Watching OoA i was transported to another time and place.

I took a sociology class once and i used the movie to highlight some of the gender differences of the time. Man wants to be free to come and go and woman wants security, love and commitment. Karen wants to be treated with respect.

I believe you found it boring because Out Of Africa is contemplative and deals with complex issues that may have gone over your head. Of course, a lot of people just go to the movies to make themselves feel good, or to get a dose of excitement into their lives, so for these people watching something slow and poetic could be "boring" sometimes painful. However when it comes down to it, its all subjecture.

The most boring movie I've ever seen was The Charge of the Light Brigade.

Here are some others I could think of (try defending these Danugh):

Gods and Generals
The Last Waltz
The Mexican
Pearl Harbor
Swept Away
Loser
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
AI: Artificial Intelligence
Saw III
Van Helsing
Miss Congeniality 2
The League of Extraordinary Gentelmen
Havoc
Basic Instinct 2
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest
The Fountain
Hannibal Rising
The Pledge
The Grudge
Zulu
Troy
Alfie (remake)
The Ring Two
Legally Blonde 2
Be Cool
Napoleon Dynamite
Ocean's Twelve
Pay It Forward
Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider 2
Secret Window
The Brothers Grimm
Rent
The Polar Express
Marie Antoinette

:-)

Poster Boy and The Cell

I can't say I watched the entire film (more like about half of each), because they almost put me to sleep. I was looking forward to each, and was severely disappointed.

I can't remember the name, but I was on a plane, and this movie was playing. It was about some old man riding around on his lawnmower looking for his brother. HOLY. SHIT. Everytime I woke up and looked at the screen, there was ol' speedracer tearing up some lawn. AAAGH

Almost none of these are boring movies. Just bad movies.

And The Grinch is a classic - unless you're talking about the Jim Carrey remake, in which i'll agree that it was shit.

Yeah I meant the remake. I left the theatre at least four times to go take a walk when I saw this. But I couldn't leave because I was with my family.

To me boring and bad go hand in hand.

Wolf creek. I sat there for an hour while fuck all happened. Apparently as soon as I left it all kicked off, but I resent sitting through an hour of pointless shit just because the director can't cut the pointless footage.

I saw that movie! It was a boring movie alright, and being stuck on a plane makes it worse. You kinda have to watch it, unless you have some other form of entertainment. that'll occupy your long journey.

Stevie, I agree wholeheartedly on "A Passage To India". However, I couldn't disagree more with the Merchant/Ivory films. They're sophisticated, not tailored to those with short attention spans. For a REALLY boring movie, check out "The Age Of Innocence". It's incredible to think that the man behind "GoddFellas" directed this snoozer.

AGREED.

I mean seriously i cannot believe i sat through the entire thing. I was there waiting for something to happen, but nothing ever did and it just seemed to go on forever.

Its hella better on broadway, but i found it to be snoozefest on screen.

Bodies, Rest and Motion. I understood the first two parts, but the third word was apparently ironic. It had one - ONE - good line, which I'll give to you for free so you won't have to sit through it.

"We're going to move to Billings, Montana."
"Why Billings?"
"I heard it was the city of the future. But I heard that awhile ago, so it's probably there now."

That made me smile. But the rest of the movie was insufferable. Four people basically talking above not only us, but each other, and themselves. It was like PlatitudeFest. Not only was there no real plot (I can handle a plotless film), but when the conversation consisted of people simply expounding their beliefs on humanity, relationships, and the world at large... It was like being stuck on a long train trip with those four guys from college that kept trying to one-up each other with their observations. Only without scenery to help take your mind off it.
