for the past few days my balls have been a bit sensitive, and today they are aching so much, i have just finished work and i am in so much pain , and im not even provoking them , they are oainful on thier own! , to add to that i have been extremley lathargic all day , i nearly fell asleep a few times during my classes today ( and 2 red bulls later lol ) im am 18 , turning 19 next april , i am seriously considering seeing my doctor asap as it could be serious, and also i am not sure if it is related but latley i have to sleep with either a pillow between my legs or a pile of piles underneath my feet and knees to get to sleep? any advice? i am just hoping the pain is temporary:cry:

Only one way to find out, friend .... make that appointment with your Doc ..... TOMORROW!!! Okay?

And don't worry ... aching balls are not uncommon ... mine still ache from time to time, too. (*8*)

Painful balls can also be sign of an infection of some sort, usually not serious...but it does need to be treated with antibiotics.

Better safe than sorry...go see the doc!! Let us know what you find out!!

Happened to me and it was prostatitus. Made my balls ache and I had a kind of unspecific ache in the whole genital region. The MD can treat whatever it is, and they probably see a lot more of this than we suspect. The prostate is a strange piece of male anatomy!

A few years back, my right nut became so sensitive, it hurt to wear pants. Turned out I had a condition called epididymitis. The epididymis is the tube that leads from your testicle to your dick that the sperm travels through and is susceptible to infection. It is very painful, but can be easily treated with anti-biotics.

More here - http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001279.htm

There is something called torsion of the testes, and this is very serious. See a doctor immediately, because it could mean your balls and the tube have in some way twisted around, and if it cuts the blood supply off....

It is a medical emergency, so go now, whatever the hour and get it seen to at A&E pronto!

Likely epididmytis from some sort of infection. Unlikely torsion, as that causes immediate pain that grows and simply can't be ignored. With you having to use something to support the testicles and bend the knees to sleep, epididmytis until proven otherwise. You need to see a doc and get it treated. Danger in letting it go is sterility.

Aussieguy-- you may have a Kidney Stone---- For me, that was the first pain I got. Still see a doctor though. Good luck---Jim

They were not hurting this morning , but are now really hurting again , they really hurt at work again tonight , and i shall be seeing a doctor as soon as i have some spare time , i think i would rather see my family doctor for this , and guys thank you very much for your posts! (*8*)

Sounds to me from your short history that you have orchitis.

You need to see a doctor to:

a) Rule out anything more sinister
b) Get treatment before any more damage is done to your crown jewels.

See your family doctor and if you cannot afford the gap between the Medicare schedule fee and his fee then at least find a doctor who direct bills Medicare - Abbott says there are still plenty around - I don't believe him though.
