My fancy new video card (ATI 5970)

I got my shiny new ASUS ATI Radeon 5970 graphics card yesterday! It's a BEAST!

I had to take out the lower drive rack from my chassis so this behemoth could fit.

I ran a Crysis benchmark on High Settings @ 1680x1050 w/ 4xAA, DX10 and 64-bit, with my old Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB and with the new card. The average fps with the old card was 33.75fps. With the new card it is 66.17fps.

So no love for Fermi then? I don't blame you if that's the case. I mean who would want that power hog monster anyway for a few framerates advantage. On top of that, you probably have to switch to this type of case

On second thought, Fermi is good present for someone you hate. They probably go bankrupt from electric bill.

Do the ATI drivers and software still suck? I had an ATI card once and was disgusted by the ugly "Kai's Power Goo" look of the options window. Since then I prefer Nvidia.

But hey, do benchmarks on a proper resolution like 1920x1200

Yeah, after such a long wait, Fermi is a huge disappointment (and I was always a huge nVidia fan). I think I made a good choice going with ATI this time.
