My Fiery Angel

I just sat here and read the entire story. I loved it until the end. Then I really loved it. It reminds me of a story that's playing in my head. One major difference is my character gets his power after he "dies." Then he meets his true love that is after he kills an evil vampire witch (A witch type thing with a blood lust) thingie that wants him as her mate. I just wish I was a writer. If I ever get the time I think I may eventually write it.

Take heart you write 10 times better than me. Which speaking of writing...... Can we get more story now? :)

Oh and you said Lex. (Got the name right. Don't hurt me.) had to die. But the question for the house is for how long? Seriously a good story but if his death is permanent then....... I don't know what to think but this story would lose most of its meaning for me.

Dear Lost_Soul4
I just finished reading your story form beginning to (almost?) end this past week. I know the voting has closed, but I would appreciate a sequel (and the epilogue), too.

To answer your realtively recent question as to why no one "bothered" to tell you it was "shit" -- There's a very good reason - It isn't.

No, you're not Tolstoy, but it was a very good contribution to this forum.

It was well constructed, had a good if somewhat bizarre plotline, was syntactically and grammatically very good, as well as not being strewn with homonymnal transpositions, as some pieces tend to be. You know where to use then vs. than, and to, two, or too, too!

You started this story three years ago, give or take. Three years of College or upper high school and college. Those are extremely formative years in development of critical writing and analysis skills, and in changes in perception and belief systems.

I suspect the author as self-critic's eye is the one that has changed. Artists frequently look back on their early works with disdain as they mature and develop in their chosen artistic skill.

Ask many of the writer's here, I can have a critical eye. Early on, I posted some constructive criticism publicly, where I thought many others could benefit from the suggestions, too. It tended to embarass the particular thread authors, however, which was not my intent at all.

Now, if I see an author who I think is genuinely serious about their craft, AND receptive to constructive criticism and/or nit-picking on grammar/word spelling/choice, and needs it, I will PM the author instead.

You don't need the nit-picky of the basics. You have those well mastered. The art of the tale, however, is a personal style/taste issue. That is something a reader can react to, but not really "correct" an author about. Renoir, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and Picasso had different styles and interpretive skills, but they were all masters of their craft. Even jackson Pollock is heralded as a master. Who am I to judge Style over substance?

Don't be too harsh on yourself, or your readers for "keeping the truth" from you. They didn't. Your work, again while morbid in places, was and is a good piece of story crafting.

I look forward to future endeavors from you, if you decide to share, and have the time. Lord knows that college can suck up all of your available creative juices.
