My Roomate

Well you took a brave step but he's not interested. Not every shy guy is gay, and guys flirt with guys all the time because they're comfortable with each other.

Time to move on.

This story sounds really familiar.

My black friends were "gay bashers"also, but for awhile in late high school/early college, there was a lot of gay talk and touching going on.

One of my friends took it overboard so much that we all knew he was at least bi, but generally everyone participated in it. Caressing of tits, shoulders, neck etc. was very common.

Anyway though we all made gay jokes and had gay conversations but nothing ever came of it because at the end of the day, saying taboo things are fun. Haven't you ever wanted to yell FIRE in church? LOL

Anyway, back to your situation, it sucks because you look stupid now because you put yourself out there. The good thing though is that this dude seems pretty reasonable. Let your friendship go back to normal. Don't hit on him again. You can continue with the "flirting" but don't overdue it. He already knows your gay/bi, so if he is bi, which he probably isn't, then he will reach out to you.
