k, so I bought nair for men a few weeks ago cause i wanted to get rid of the hair on my arms.

i know they said to try it on an area, then wait like 24-48 hours to see how your skin will react to it etc, but I didn't.

put it on, took it off... no issues. about a week later, i started to get red bumps on my arms, didn't hurt or anything.. not itchy. thought it might have been an irritation, MAYBE a rash.. although it never itched. searched on google for answers, people said they had "red bumps" but went away, and they either stopped using it or just tried another product.....

thing is, these things are still there 3 weeks later, not as visable as they once were, but they look familiar... they look like ingrown hair. i've had ingrown hair on my legs since i was in high school, and even used a product called "tend skin" to get rid of them (took many uses, but it worked, i stopped using and they are back).

im just curious, has anyone else had the same results like me, is there anything i could try to remove the ingrown hair (if that is what it is).. or -something- else to get rid of them?

i'd prefer not to buy tend skin again, as it was fuckin expensive, but im up for something else that works, and much cheaper... i think i spend $70 bucks on the tend skin.

i want to keep using the nair, but ingrown hair isn't really a big issue.. i mean, im sure i can do something to prevent it in the future, i just want to try something to see if it works before having to see my family doctor if they don't go away fully....

i mean, having red bumps on your arms and hair on your arms that LOOKS like it's been nair'd looks really ugly. and honestly, even if i tested an area before using the nair would have been pointless as i never got any bad reaction that appeared within 48 hours... it took 5 days before i started noticing the bumps.

It is ingrown hairs. Soak in tub and gently scrub using a natural sponge or a mesh plastic sponge using relatively small circular motions. After your bath, use a non petroleum based lotion such as Cera Ve (which is also good for new tattoos).

Talk to a dermatologist.... oh ok, if I was willing to pay to visit one, I wouldn't have wasted my time asking here. It's a gay mans forum, I knew there had to be someone here who would know from using this stuff.

offcentered1, i don't have a tub in my place, but im sure soaking it all the same some how would suffice.

i would assume using cerave immediately after using nair would help prevent the ingrown hair?

You know when you used the nair, did you get rid of all the hairs?

I can remember I used it once on my nether regions and it kind of didn't work. I left it on for about 5 mins and it didnt just wipe off. Anyway I was sat there afterwards with my hands down my pants, as you do, and as I played my my hairs, they pulled out. Guess the Nair started the process and it just needed a heling hand!

yes. it says to keep it on for like 8-10 minutes or something. hairs just wipped right off... put had to do some spots twice

It is ingrown hair, if it appears a week later.

What happens is, Nair and similar product does not remove the root of the hair follicles. Thus, it only burns and disolve the hair on top.

Your pores closes and ingrown hair starts to show up.

Either change into waxing it, or find a product that claims to remove hair roots.

I am a cosmetologist, so I would always recommend my clients to waxing and tend to pay no attention to store products..

I do, though, saw something advertise on tv recently that claims to disolve the hair fully from root to top.
Try searching for it in the store.

I use Nair for legs on my legs, arms and ass with no problem. I have not experienced any red bumps. I would recommend a physician.
