That's not surprising considering most of Destiny Child's and Beyonce's male dissing, female empowering songs were written by other people, men included.

However, taking credit for writing Beyonce's number one song when there is absolutely zilch going on in his life at the moment seems like an incredibly shitty thing to do.

i conqueror, thats fucked up of him....
he just had like one hit.
baby boy yo besta get DA stepping!

I'm glad that he snitched on Beyonce cuz it just proved what I thought all along...
And he took credit for it at this time, cuz she told fans at a concert that "this was something SHE wrote" for all the women. LIAR!

And I'm glad that Hudson and Murphy got awards, but not her. HA HA!
You are not the only one that deserves attention, B..

This feels like one of those songs where the other is talking shit about the other.

Who cares who writes what songs. Cant people just like something for what it is? Alot of the biggest artist of all time (Mariah, Celine, Whitney) dont write their own music.

If you actually read the booklet in her CD. There are actually 6 people who wrote the song.
-S. Smith
-Beyonce

Well it makes more sense that a man sings it because how many average women buy their men jaguars?

Usually its the man that supports the woman in relationships.

This song should have been Britneys songs but then she got pregnant with jayden and Beyonce bought the rights to the song.

Did Ne-Yo bring it up in the interview or did it just come up in an answer? It doesn't really matter to me...Beyonce is the one singin' it, not him.

Well...I never liked Ne-Yo or any of his songs so I guess I don't really care.

But can you image him singin' it? how funny would that be.

"To the left, to the left"

I thought he was asked about it since she has stated in concert that she wrote the song for all the women out there blah blah blah...

Ne Yo actually is a very popular artist his first albuim has sold over 3 million copies world wide. He also wrote the song Unfaithful for Rihanna and that song was a huge hit for her as well. Anyhow, Ne Yo is the one laughing all the way to the bank because he's making millions off of Beyonce for Song writing royalties. I think this is a great what's going on. The public need to know when we see certain singets names in the songwriting credits sometimes they don't write the damn song. I don't get why Beyonce is even getting any credit? I imagine its because of her father he always makes sure she can get a royalty in a song just like Madonna. does.

Ne-Yo is a lyricist, so he didn't write the SONG, either. He has yet to have a song released that is simply written by Schaffer Smith (his goverment name), and no other co-writers.

I think the point is that Beyonce says SHE writes the songs, as if it's an independent effort on her part.

I can't stand either of them, so I don't give a fuck. But the bottom line is Beyonce has five other co-writers most of the time.

i also do like neyos track!
so sick was an amazing song!
And I really thought beyonce wrote this song and its a pity to know neyo wrote it, its just comes to show that someone showed as honest on screen is a lier at the back!

Honestly, I could give a flying shit whether Ne-Yo wrote the song or not. I like them both and bought both their CDs and I don't do that too often. They are both good entertainers and they both deserve credit. He has his credit in Beyonce's Cd booklet. Brother, thats all you need. Mary J. Blige did the same along with Rihanna. Whats the difference if Beyonce does it?

yeah but she claims she wrote all the songs by her lil bitty self........shes been caught in so many lies...he daddy needs to stop putting all this bullshit in her head

Actually Mariah Carey DOES write her own songs she's gone to court and won battles over this. The song Hero Mariah WROTE that song. Always be my baby Mariah WROTE that as well. Mariah says she is sick of the sexism because she does indeed write her own songs. And its the truth. Someone like Madonna I doubt she or Janet Jackson write their own songs. But Mariah is VERY involved in the songwriting process. She has proven herself to be a fantastic songwriter.

I disagree that it doesn't matter who wrote the song. Songwriters are one of the most overlooked people in pop music. I would love to see how far most pop singers would have gotten if they had written all of their own songs. I have no problem with using outside songwriters (lord knows, I don't think Diane Warren would have sold records if she were the artist).

But, I don't understand why this is such a surprise. Isn't he credited as one of the writers of the song? What about the other four? Is he trying to say that he wrote more than anyone else or that Beyonce didn't write any of it? Then he needs to get a better agent/lawyer because if he signed the contract letting her be listed as a co-writer he has nothing to whine about. And if she is claiming that she wrote the songs herself, then a) she thinks we are all too stupid to read the linear notes of a cd or b) if she did write the songs herself, then she needs a better agent (somehow I doubt this one).

And, let me just say that Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff were one of the best songwriting teams in pop music.

You are so bad!

I think what it is, is that Beyonce goes on Oprah or other shows and interviews saying things like, "I wrote this because I wanted to say this and that and this..." or "When I write these songs, it's fantasy..." Making it seem like she's the one writing all, if not most of the material... slighting the contributions of the sixteen other writers on the track. She's only getting song writing credit because her father wants her to get a piece of the royalty checks. I doubt we will ever legitimately see a hit song with the words "Music and Lyrics by Beyonce Knowles." It will always just be:

Song Title
A. Beyince, R. Harrison, B. Knowles, S. Smith, L. Bernstein, S. Sondheim,

Because that way, there won't be a need to define what Beyonce is actually responsible for in the song writing.

And, let me just say that Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff were one of the best songwriting teams in pop music.
I agree, along with Kenneth Edmonds, Darryl Simmons and Antonio Reid.

Rich Harrison (one of her main producers) also complained that Beyonce lied about co-writing "Crazy in Love". Apparently she just changes a few words in the lyrics and usurps the credit. And for those who say what's the difference: you all damn well know that if you wrote a song for a singer( believing that the singer was going to give you credit ie. it wasnt a ghostwriting job) and they added their name to the credits, you'd be upset.
