Need help for my 6 page essay about congress

Hello ya’ll. I am here because I need you guys help to guide me in the right direction. I am currently trying to write a 6 page essay. The topic I choose to attack on is Congressmen. There are a lot of issues that congress does that affect the economy in a bad way. Even though there is little what Congress does in a positive way, I also need to include what “good things” they have done so I am not one-sided on my research paper. What things have they done that effect the country in a good way? Is there a link that you can help provide for me? Also, I am very behind on up-to-date politics and historically savvy in which I don’t know much about the past historically. It’ll be different to sound smart on my paper as I’ll most likely have to look up many government terms. Is there a better site/forum that I can go (and many people refer to) to receive a fast and clear response? Thank you very much.

It is your research paper...although honest to Pete, I'm having a hard time with the idea that you are even old enough to be on this site based on what you wrote here.

Start googling your topic. You need to learn how to do the work, not just how to ask others to do it for you. You'll get to do that one day when you are sitting behind my desk.

Here's the help I can give:
you guys : change this to "your" help. This will help the sentence flow more smoothly.

on is : change this to "is on", also you chose it, not you choose it.

affect the economy in a bad way : this should read "negatively affect the economy", the other way sounds somewhat juvenile.

there is little what Congress does in a positive way : I would go with, "little of Congress' decisions have a positive effect"

effect : The correct word here is "affect"

help : "help" isn't needed in this sentence, although I fear you need much help with your grammar.

Also, I am very behind on up-to-date politics and historically savvy in which I don’t know much about the past historically. : I would completely leave this sentence out.

different : I believe the word you are looking for here is difficult. And from what you posted here I agree it will be difficult, but not for the reason you suggest.

It has been suggested that you may not be mature enough to be here based on your post and I definitely agree that is possible. If you want any chance to sound "smart" in your paper I would suggest you first go to your local library and check out every book you can find that explains the rules of grammar. Once that is done you could maybe check out some material on the history of the US Government.

To be fair, I've been out of school for 4 years and writing is defiantly not one of my strong subjects; plus english is my second language. There is a writing center place that will sit down with me and help revise my paper. Right now, the only Infomation I would need is the positive that the congressmen/congresswoman have done for this country so my paper won't sound one-sides or a person that just rants about the government. I have a few stuff that I could attack on congress but not much I could use to defend myself if that makes any sense.

I will spare you any criticism(s) of your grammar, I am sure that I do violence to the English language as well.
Now as for Congress, as of late both houses have been involved in obstructionist tactics, hence it is hard to think of any good that they have done.
Perhaps repealing don't ask don't tell is one thing that comes to my mind, another being the passing of The affordable health care act.
During the ongoing recession/depression legislation made it possible to save the auto industry and keep us from perhaps a permanent demise.
