Hi Every one,

I am not able to open my pictures folder. everytimes I chick on it . the respond is window explorer not responding.

any help is highly appreciated. thank you.

Maybe clear out all the cookies/browsing history, and reboot.

Maybe clear out your C-drive of internet clutter.

But the folder should open up even not dong these thing but maybe worth a try. Sometimes just rebooting will work- system could just be stuck on something..
 
Thank you Racer 2438 for your quick suggestion. I cleared out all as per your suggested but still not working. I wonder why ?
 
open an explorer window and disable all kinds of thumbnails/previews and sidebars. try to navigate to your picture folder then.

also .. use a virus scanner on the folder before, it is possible that there is not just a corrupt pic, but a pic that tries to exploit vulnerabilities in quick preview.

Thanks for your repond. I run system scan on Norton virus system check there is nothing infected.

I can only open my photos folder from explorer. I can not open through start Menu.

when I go to start --documents--picture. the answer is window explorer not respond. Any suggestion is highly appreciate thank you.

How many files are in that folder? Don't know what operating system you have, but Windows XP hangs if you have too many files in a folder.

If it's that, create a new folder and try to copy a certain amount into that one using the shell or another file manager.

Thank you for your respond. I am using Windows vista Ultimate.

There are 6039 pictures in that folder. I do not know if it had anything to do with the number of pictures in the file.

some one said there may be a problem picture to cause it. I had deleted all the pictures that I save on the same day it crash it still not help.

I try to restore the system to early date but it not work. system keep telling me that there is an error during the restore process therefore unable to retore system.

In the picture folder I have 2 sub folders in there. I try to move some pictures into one of the sub folder . I moving it too fast and caused it crash. I do not how to fix it.

any help is highly appreciated. thank you.
