I am a member of a gayporn site I recently tried to log into site but was denied entry. I contacted the site and they responded saying that my username and password had been compromised. In which I dont know how (of course). So now im paranoid about my computer, they suggeted going to download.com and using one of their free programs which should clear my computer of any spyware and viruses. My question is should I trust this site? I already have Norton security one my system but the site said thats not enough. What do you guys think I should do. I could really use some advice.
Thanks in advance.

Dont use a gayporn site's to download an anti virus ! Asking for trouble!
I prefer this site to Norton

I doubt if a virus has messed up your log on information I think it sounds like a scam !
BTW you may have to remove your Norton proramme before the other one will work , I found Norton was too intrusive!

^^Thats just what I was thinking but I have been a member of the site for a couple years now so I didnt know what to think...Thanks

SUPERAntiSpyWare.com has saved me numerous times. It's a silly name but the most effective anti-spyware program I've used.

Also, because your user/pass was compromised doesn't mean your computer was.

Password traders use programs that will guess at user/pass combos. This is why it's important that you never use simple usernames or passwords. Never use real words that can be found in a dictionary and try to use special characters and upper/lower case characters.

Norton is well know for being slow and cumbersome.

I use Avast free. Works great and updates itself daily. If you decide to use it you would need to remove Norton first.

Malwarebytes is another free program that searches for and removes other gremlins from your computer. You can use it with Norton or any other antivirus program.

Both of these programs are recommended by my techie friend who makes a living keeping computers running smoothly.

FTR I'm in earnest ^. I got tired of dealing with Windows' anti-malware protection racket rituals and gradually migrated from Win XP Pro SP2 & 3 to current versions of Ubuntu after dual-booting via both operating systems for ~a year.

Windows slowly fell by the wayside as I grew more comfy with Ubuntu. Even Windows 7 couldn't woo me back.
