I coined the term before one of these thieving psych academics tries to lay claim to it. I discovered it, I'm writing the theories.
NMS is grown ass men whose entire personality is schooyard bully. They use insults such as the r-word, they get their rocks off from antagonizing others and the suffering/discontent of others is their oxygen. Ironically, they are the first to claim victimhood as well, although they routinely lecture others to refrain from doing so.
Many come from broken families and had tortured childhoods, they cope with their feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing by mistreating others. There's usually a trigger somewhere in their childhood: an alcoholic father, emotionally absent mother, bullied by peers. Unfortunately they don't have the tools they need to develop into healthy, functional adults. From what I've seen, there's seldom any recovery. Once this becomes their personality, they commit to it. They are irreparably broken and emotionally stunted.
Once upon a time I used to "bully the bullies" because I have a soft spot for the underdog, lately I've been training myself to take a more caring approach because often times they simply don't know any better and aren't capable of better, hence I have to temper my responses and remind myself that although they are physically adults, mentally and emotionally they are and will always be scared little children.
Similar, parallel conditions include Peter Pan Syndrome and sociopathy.
