I coined the term before one of these thieving psych academics tries to lay claim to it. I discovered it, I'm writing the theories.

NMS is grown ass men whose entire personality is schooyard bully. They use insults such as the r-word, they get their rocks off from antagonizing others and the suffering/discontent of others is their oxygen. Ironically, they are the first to claim victimhood as well, although they routinely lecture others to refrain from doing so.

Many come from broken families and had tortured childhoods, they cope with their feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing by mistreating others. There's usually a trigger somewhere in their childhood: an alcoholic father, emotionally absent mother, bullied by peers. Unfortunately they don't have the tools they need to develop into healthy, functional adults. From what I've seen, there's seldom any recovery. Once this becomes their personality, they commit to it. They are irreparably broken and emotionally stunted.

Once upon a time I used to "bully the bullies" because I have a soft spot for the underdog, lately I've been training myself to take a more caring approach because often times they simply don't know any better and aren't capable of better, hence I have to temper my responses and remind myself that although they are physically adults, mentally and emotionally they are and will always be scared little children.

Similar, parallel conditions include Peter Pan Syndrome and sociopathy.

"temper my response"? No need. Some people don't deserve the benefit of tolerance.
You can call them out, but that's a fruitless endeavor as most of them grow up to join the evil cabal that runs the world. It's always been that way. Fate may not always favor them (at least not before they do a lot of unimaginable damage) but evolution always will.
The only way to try and stop them is to do something about the people who allow them to gain power. The people with a far more troubling character disease: Ralph Wiggum syndrome, also known as "The American voter".

I have a coworker that heads another department that is a total Nelson Muntz. He’s been having a meltdown lately because the new owners aren’t putting up with it, so he’s playing the victim now. He’s a textbook case.

Unfortunately there’s a market for it too on social media. “Anti-woke/Anti-PC” content for people who like seeing content creators unapologetically use those kinds of words out in the open. It then gives the general public the idea that it’s okay in everyday life.

A lot of these damaged people end up running the country, apparently.

they're also chronically online, cyberbullying is very popular with them since they're usually antisocial, unpopular, friendless and joyless. social media widens their audience ?victims? They started laugh reacting to police brutality and chattel slavery commentary when FB debuted the feature and haven't stopped since.

tip of the iceberg, I've seen hoards of youknowwho's do laugh react trolling to women complaining about sexual harassment and rape threats. always sock puppet accounts although many are bold enough to do this on their public profiles with their big smug grins and jobs listed in the bio. i don't think anyone even bothers with the Report button anymore, it's like a strict bottom's 9" tadger, pretty but just there for decoration.

Let's all take a moment to get ready . . . Nelson Muntz Syndrome could take over The World!

Do I remember correctly that in at least one or two long-ago Simpsons episodes (the 1990s, probably), Nelson suddenly went into some deeply analytical or scientific thoughts about something? It seems like something that the writers might just "throw in" for fun.

I'm catching up, starting the season Lady Gaga appeared. On a more important note, we got a celebrity in the house. HAYYYYY Frankie :gogirl:
