I have a movie file that plays perfectly on my comp using my Windows Media Player, the voices are perfectly in sync.
So I go to burn it to DVD using my Nero7, and when I play it on the TV/home theatre the voices are now 5 - 10 seconds ahead of the picture.
What went wrong? Is there anything in the Nero settings that can fix/prevent this?
Still a burning rookie.
TIA.

Is the movie a copy from an original dvd movie or a simple, for example, .avi (it's the file type) movie file that you burned into a dvd to be able to watch on a regular dvd player?

It might have something to do with the decoding process, something probably went wrong during the process. Have you tried to burn it again to see if it does the same thing?

Anyways, if it's a copy from an original dvd movie you should use this program called Clone2Dvd...it's really good and simple to use. Whenever I copy a dvd movie from the original this is the program I always use.

It is an avi file - you think just burning it again could remedy it? I watched it in Nero preview (using their remote control) and it was out of sync before it started transcoding so I aborted it, yet as I said before it was flawless when I watched it in Windows Media Player.

Hmmm...then I don't know. You could try look up for another program that burns .avi files to dvd's. Try the one I mentioned...I'm not sure if it burns also .avi files to dvd's but check it out.

There's also this program called DVD Shrink...or something like that.

Thanks for the help. I liked Nero since it was very user friendly and seems like the ideas you've suggested may take a lot for me to figure out. I hope download.com is gonna be helpful for me?

The codec link in the AVI to DVD thread in this forum has hopefully solved my problem.

Gonna piggyback another Nero issue here instead of wasting a new thread on it.

The only thing I use Nero7 for is to burn files from my comp to DVD so we can watch them on the LCD with the home theatre sound. If I wanna burn music I'm quite content with Windows Media Player and if I'm doing pic stuff the software with my Canon Powershot does everything I need. And I don't do anything else.

Logic suggests that I should completely uninstall Nero7 from my comp (I own a legal copy with serial number) and then do a custom install for just the Nero Vision (I could care less about pretty labels, I have Sharpie markers). Is that gonna be easy to do or am I already getting timid about doing something custom and fucking it up?

Thoughts?
Again TIA.
