Yeah I have an LCD TV and I have my PS3 running on the same screen for like hours downloading a demo or something. Even though the PS3 will slowly dim the PS3's display. It has to be something else.

You more than likely have a plasma tv, and not an LCD. They are prone to the image retention. Look though your TV menu and there will be several options to help reduce the likely hood that it will retain images. I know on samsung you can have the image shift every couple of minutes, and set the screen to auto-dim if it detects the image on the screen has not moved in more than five minutes.

There is also a "repair" function that you can run. It will run a series of dark and light bars on the screen to help remove the burnt in image. You'll have to leave it running for about 30 min, but it usually works. Also try dimming the brightness of the screen.

The worst thing you can do is turn off the TV if it's retained the image. At least turn on a tv show so something is moving on the screen.

Sorry netflix did not work well for you Pianist. I'm glad you got it solved though.

However incase you change you're mind, you can now run netflix without disc via Netflix Channel. I think Netflix.com can show you how to do it. I'm sure it's probably just on the Wii Shop Channel under downloads. That might work a little better and might actually let you adjust the size of the video or maybe even use search.

For some reason 360 and PS3 let you adjust the video size for streaming. Wii version does not. And only the PS3 version lets you search by typing in something as well. I'm gonna give the disc-less netflix a try and see how it works.

I love the PS3 Netflix app its pretty solid and has a nice cool interface better than the disc version. Also has all your queue movies in a nicely organized way, better than scrolling left and right for each movie.

Not to go off topic but...

Can you bump movies to the front of the que? I'm not sure if you can do that in the 360 or wii version. I ask because I share netflix so I have a crap load of instant qued at the front. I can easily use the internet to bump or change the que. But it would be nice to do it on the app or channel as well.

Apparently there are a few new interface changes. Searching is mentioned but I don't know if they mean for PS3 or wii. I am not sure if the discs will become useless now for the PS3 and Wii versions. That might inconvenience some people who have crappy internet for either console if that's the case. Also, lol at all the parents bitching over wanting parental control for netflix so they don't have to monitor their kids.

Well I tried out the Wii version for like 5 minutes and turned it off, it hurt my eyes so much 420p resolution I went back to my PS3 cause it looked pretty! I am not sure if you can sort your queue list on the PS3 they do that all through the website on a PC or Mac.

Also there is definitely a search function on the PS3, I think the Disc version of the app had a search function but you had to know what button to press.

Haha I completely agree Gamerbear. I tried to wii version the other day. It's nice but I tried even watching futurama (animation generally has a better quality for streaming and in other instances) and it was kinda crappy. I watched it on the 360 downstairs and it was beautiful.

But yeah Wii now has search function. So does xbox 360. W/we are using instant play right now. The search function is sorta weak though. They are taking more and more movies off of instant play now which is disappointing. They list a lot of things as DVD only >_>"
