I Agree. If there's one design flaw on the old apple keyboards (like the one I'm using now which is totally disgusting) it's the transparent tray. Perfect for preserving DNA and artifacts underneath the keys. It's a pain to clean.

Anyway, when I saw the new apple keyboard, I said, Yes, no more tray. And knowing that the new keyboard's design was taken from the macbook keyboards, I know they are going to perform well. Yes it does look flimsy aesthetically (yet sleek) but coming from apple, they wouldn't make anything like that. Now if I only had the $$ to buy a new keyboard even if my current one still works perfectly... Anyway.

I'm looking forward to the new Apple mouse!

Oh yes please bring on the new mouse, this should be their number one priority. The scroll tit has to go I have to dismantle mine every couple of months. Once They have that sorted the keyboard would come next. I must try one next time I am near a computer store.

You could use an apple keyboard with a pc... But, what a waste.

no numpad.

the problem with stylish keyboards .. always they think it's cool to tamper with the layout. fuck you developers. i want a slim, soft stylish keyboard with backlight AND all keys.

It's a little too minimalistic for me. I mean i suppose it looks ok if you're into the whole minimal brushed metal look, but it's just not me. I like black with lots of buttons and backlighting :). The keyboard I really want is the Optimus Maximus, too bad it will be $1500 when it debutes. :(

Jordan, for me, the wireless keyboard is great because of the versatility, when I feel like it, I can use my keyboard from my lap on my couch, using my tv as a monitor. Also, I have a very large desk surface, an it's nice to be able to pull the keyboard all the way to the end without haveing to worry about the wire.

and about battery issues, I've had this keyboard/mouse for 8 months now, and still haven't replaced the stock batteries, and they don't show any sign of giving up soon.

Anyway, I use the numeric keypad to type a lot of my passwords, I would never spring for a keyboard that didn't have it!

oh yeah the reason wireless keyboards tend not to have numberpads is so if you have it on you lap typing it is centered rather than being offset

im not a big fan of apple and i dont blame u for getting rid of that white one they can break easly just keep the one u have

I tried it out too in a Mac shop and didn't like it. It looks pretty, but the keys are worse than the ones on a laptop. They seem to get stuck when pressing them down, then a millisecond later pop up again with a click sound. The enter is too small for me and I seemed to miss it a few times when writing.
